Ontario’s housing market continues to shift but the numbers tell the story. 🏡📊
According to CREA’s July 2026 data, Ontario recorded 16,276 residential sales, with an average sale price of $797,486 and an MLS® HPI benchmark price of $749,800. While prices are down year over year, sales activity was still 7.3% above the five year average for July.

According to CREA’s latest forecast, the national average home price is expected to rise 1.1% in 2026 to approximately $686,710. CREA also notes that market conditions can vary significantly by province and community, which is why local data matters when making real estate decisions.

The Bank of Canada has held its key interest rate at 2.25% today, September 2, 2026. 🏡📉
While there wasn’t a cut this time around, holding the rate steady provides a little more certainty for buyers, sellers, and homeowners as we head into the fall market.
The next Bank of Canada rate announcement is scheduled for October 28, 2026.
