Sunscape-The Garden Shoppe

I’ve been a little quiet on the home front lately…but as most of you know, I’m not very good at sitting still and there’s been lots of work we’ve been doing behind the scenes.😂 We sure know how to keep ourselves busy around here!

So, here’s a little peek at what’s happening behind the scenes at Sunscape.

🌱 Seeds and plant orders are already being finalized for our 2027 season!

The last of our veggies are being harvested.

Greenhouse cleanup will start in the next few days and loads of maintenance projects are being tackled daily!

We are also working towards re-opening our Garden Shoppe for the Fall/Winter Season.(and here many of you thought I was done🙃)

Yes….probably the most common question I’ve been getting is…

“I heard you’re retiring…Are you really totally done forever?!”

Good Lord, no! 😂 I don’t even know what I would do with myself if I stopped growing altogether!

But Sunscape is changing.

For 2027, three of our greenhouses will be taken out of regular production and kept for private/personal use.
Our main greenhouse will become our production greenhouse, where we’ll focus on growing our pre-orders, baskets and contract/commercial orders.

We’re also working on something I’m really excited about—a new entrance from the Garden Shoppe into the Tropical House, which will become our new retail greenhouse space for 2027! 🌿

Yes, it’s a drastic change.

But after 26 years, it’s a change we need to make.

A greenhouse operation this size takes an incredible amount of work to prep, fill, water, maintain and operate every season.
Hubby is in his 70s, we are grandparents now, and there are things in life we want to have time for besides working seven days a week.

Life is short. None of us knows what’s around the corner, and we are simply no longer willing to work at the pace we have for the last 26 years.

We’re not closing.
We’re downsizing.
We’re simplifying.
And hopefully, we’re finally learning how to slow down a little. ❤️

What does that mean for you?

There will be less greenhouse space to wander through and fewer varieties available in large quantities.
But we will continue growing the beautiful, quality plants and baskets you’ve come to expect from Sunscape—there will simply be less of everything.

If there are particular plants, varieties, colours or baskets you know you’ll want for 2027, please contact me this fall with your wish list or place your order early.

Many of you have already done exactly that, and I can’t tell you how helpful it is.
It allows me to streamline my seed and plant orders and grow much more intentionally.

After 26 years, Sunscape isn’t disappearing.

We’re just growing a little differently. 🌱

And we are pretty excited for the new changes!

Message us if you’d like to come out and dig your own potatoes!
