"More often than I wish, people, random people, will stop me and say that I'm inspiring, and I sometimes shake my head and think inspiring because I'm at the grocery store? And I think that is something that people need to think about, like why...why when you see a person with a disability out doing life, why is that inspiring? And think about...is that changing the way you do your thing because like you're only allowed to be inspired by me if it changes the way you live your life, do your work, treat other people, that's...that's what is inspiring".

Last week we had the privilege of spending the day with approximately 60 Grade 11 students at the annual St.Anne's Retreat at Camp Klahanie!
The students took part in four sessions exploring leadership, acceptance, inclusion, and the impact we can have on the world around us as we prepare for the future.
Community Living-Central Huron was proud to be part of the day, with several folks co-leading several sessions and creating opportunities for students to learn, reflect, share ideas, and see leadership in action.
A huge THANK YOU to the Goderich Lions Club, who prepared lunch and so much more! Camp Klahanie has been the home of this retreat for the third year in a row! Your continued support helps make this meaningful day possible. ๐
When young people have opportunities to connect, learn from one another, and explore what it means to be a leader, we help build a community where everyone belongs.

World Mental Health Day | October 10
Mental health is an important part of our overall well-being. It influences how we think, feel, connect with others, and navigate life's challenges. On World Mental Health Day, we are reminded that it is okay to ask for help, take time to recharge, and support those around us with kindness and understanding.
A simple conversation, a listening ear, or a small act of compassion can make a meaningful difference in someone's day.
Let's continue to create communities where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
๐ Be kind to yourself.
๐ Check in on others.
๐ Remember that mental health matters every day.
