💪 HIIT Training with Coach Eddie! 🔥

Getting our hearts pumping and our bodies moving at Aurora Recovery Centre!

Coach Eddie put our clients through an energizing HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) workout, building strength, endurance, confidence, and resilience!

Fitness is about more than physical health. It’s about challenging ourselves, supporting one another, and discovering just how strong we really are.

Strong bodies, strong minds, stronger recovery! 💪

🌲🥾 That’s an Aurora BEST at 6km! 💪

A big shout-out to our clients who completed Sunday’s Big Adventure Hike, followed by meditation and stretching! 🧘‍♀️

From climbing over and crawling under obstacles to crossing log bridges, spotting some artistic “ancient petroformations” (possibly zillions of years old 😉), and meeting some fellow furry hikers (Leo the dog) along the way, it was quite the adventure!

Every step is a reminder that recovery is about pushing boundaries, embracing new experiences, connecting with nature, and celebrating what we’re capable of achieving together.

6 kilometres down — and plenty of reasons to be proud! Way to go, everyone! 💚🌿

Last week, we were grateful for a beautiful day on the land, taking our relatives medicine picking. 🪶

Teachings were shared, medicines were gathered, and the sounds of singing and drumming surrounded us as we spent time together.

These are the moments that fill the heart — connecting with the land, our culture, our medicines, and one another. We are so grateful for the teachings, the laughter, and the memories made together. 🪶

🍂🧡 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Aurora! 🧡🍂

This Thanksgiving, we are reminded that gratitude is found in the little things — the connections we make, the kindness we share, and the people who walk alongside us on our journeys.

We are especially grateful for our clients, alumni, families, staff, and communities who continue to inspire us every day.

Recovery is a journey, and every step forward is something to be thankful for. 🧡

From our Aurora family to yours, we wish you a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, love, connection, and gratitude.

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁

❤️ October 4 | National Day of Action for MMIWG2S+

Today, we honour and remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People.

We stand with the families, survivors and communities who continue to carry the grief, seek answers and advocate for justice. Today is also a call to action—to listen, learn, speak up and continue working toward meaningful change.

May those who are missing never be forgotten. May those whose lives were taken always be remembered. ❤️

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

On September 30th, our Traditional Team led us in recognizing this important day through ceremony, connection, reflection and learning.

It was a day of pain and remembrance, but also a day of truth, learning, culture and connection. Together, we made to***co ties and tied them to our oak tree, participated in drumming and singing, and gathered in ceremony. 🪶

We took time to honour Survivors, their families and communities, and to remember the children who never made it home.

We are grateful to our Traditional Team for sharing their knowledge, teachings and culture with us, and for creating a meaningful space for our clients and staff to listen, learn, reflect and heal.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | September 30

Today, Aurora honours the Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities, and remembers the children who never returned home.

We recognize the strength and resilience of Indigenous Peoples and the importance of continuing to listen, learn, and walk together on the path toward healing and reconciliation.

Today and every day, may we lead with compassion, understanding, and respect.

With the man himself — the one behind all the magic, Mr. Giuseppe Ganci!

We caught up with Giuseppe at the Recovery Capital Conference as this incredible event celebrates its 10th anniversary.

What started as a small idea among people in recovery who recognized the need for a healthcare conference focused on recovery has grown into an educational conference welcoming 2,000+ attendees. This year also marks an exciting step forward with greater involvement from the medical community and a continued focus on building a recovery-oriented system of care that recognizes all pathways to recovery.

As Manitobans, it has been inspiring to see the momentum around recovery here in Alberta and to be part of the conversations, connections, and solutions happening this week.

Congratulations to Giuseppe and the entire team on 10 years of bringing people together to strengthen recovery capital and help move recovery forward.
