Happy Birthday, Riley! 🎉💛🐴

A bright smile, a kind heart, and a love of horses—there’s plenty to celebrate about this wonderful member of our Willow Grove family!

Riley, we love the warmth and positivity you bring to the barn. You’re a loving momma, a horse lover through and through, and clearly someone who understands the importance of coordinating your outfit with your horse. 😉🐝

Your “Bee Kind” shirt sums it up beautifully—and you wear that kindness just as well as the yellow!

Wishing you a year filled with good rides, plenty of laughter, family adventures, and a little time just for you. Preferably at the barn… with cake afterwards. 🎂

Happy Birthday from all of us at Team Willow Grove! We’re so glad you’re part of our herd. ❤️

🥂 Prosecco, Ponies & Pretty Fabulous People! 🐴

Who says riding lessons are just for kids? Certainly not us!

This weekend was another reminder of why I absolutely LOVE our adult riding community at Willow Grove.

Great horses, wonderful women, plenty of laughter, a little Prosecco and, of course, some learning along the way!

A huge thank you to Christine Waldroff for sharing her knowledge and experience with our group this weekend.

We love bringing people together who inspire us, challenge us and remind us that there’s always something new to learn.

At Willow Grove, our adult program is about so much more than time in the saddle. It’s about friendships, confidence, horsemanship, personal growth and occasionally a glass of bubbly after a good ride. 😉

Whether you’re brand new to horses, returning after years away or an experienced rider looking for your next adventure, there’s a place for you here.

From weekly lessons and hands-on horsemanship days to clinics, retreats and special events, we believe grown-ups deserve a little horse-crazy fun too!

And the best part? You don’t have to own a horse, compete or even know which end of the horse eats the carrots to belong.

Come for the horses. Stay for the friendships. And never underestimate the power of a little Prosecco! 🥂🐴

We’d love to welcome you to our Willow Grove adult riding family.

Send us a message and come see what we’re all about!

Vienna 🇦🇹❤️

And that’s a wrap… 🐴❤️

What a horse show. What a team. What a week.

We headed out with five riders, some pretty wonderful horses, a whole lot of preparation…and of course Murphy, because apparently no Team Willow Grove horse show is complete without our four-legged Assistant Coach and Head of Morale. 🐶😂

❤️ Victoria & Fritz
❤️ Zara & Slew
❤️ Kaya & Molly
❤️ Vanessa & Russell
❤️ Cayley & Wes AND Butterfly

There were ribbons, great rounds, moments that made us cheer, moments that challenged us and plenty that made us laugh.

But looking back, the ribbons aren’t what I’m most proud of.

I’m proud of the growth.

I watched riders manage nerves, make decisions, adjust plans, solve problems and come back stronger when things didn’t go exactly as hoped.

I watched them care for their horses, support one another, celebrate each other’s successes and become more independent horsewomen.

Because THAT is what horse showing is supposed to teach.

Winning is wonderful. We all love a pretty ribbon. 😉🏆

But learning to win graciously, lose graciously, take responsibility, be coachable, care for your horse, support your teammates and keep going when things get hard?

Those are the ribbons you take home for life.

And our horses — Fritz, Slew, Molly, Russell, Wes and Butterfly — thank you for being the incredible teachers you are. ❤️🐴

To our parents and families, thank you for the early mornings, long days, driving, cheering, helping and for trusting me with a pretty important piece of your kids’ lives.

And Murphy would like it officially noted that she supervised extensively, provided emotional support, accepted all appropriate admiration and feels her performance warranted at least a championship ribbon. 🐶🏆😂

I came home horse-show tired — which is its own special category of tired — but incredibly proud and grateful.

Not because everything was perfect.

Because it wasn’t. And THAT is where some of the best learning happened.

Proud of these riders.
Proud of these horses.
Proud of this village.

Proud to be Team Willow Grove. ❤️🐴

🐴 Coach Trish ❤️

Oh Almond. 🐱💗

Every barn needs a good cat.

And then there’s Almond — who has clearly decided that good is nowhere near adequate. 😂

She is barn supervisor, tack-room security, professional shoulder warmer, mouse-management executive and occasional gargoyle watching over her kingdom from above.

She has mastered the art of appearing exactly where you don’t expect her, finding the warmest bed in the barn, and convincing perfectly busy humans that whatever they were doing can wait because Almond requires attention.

She’s independent enough to remind you she’s a cat… but loving enough to climb right up and settle onto a shoulder when she chooses her person. 💕

And that FACE. 😹
Equal parts judgement, wisdom and “I have seen things in this barn.”

Horses may be the reason we all show up every day, but it’s characters like Almond who make a barn feel like home.

Best Barn Kitty award? 🏆🐾

No contest.

Almond. Forever employee of the month.
She contributes absolutely nothing financially and yet somehow has complete job security. 😂

There’s something pretty special about a horse who sees their person… and chooses to walk toward them. 🤍🐴

No halter. No lead rope. No asking.

Just Lucy and Addy saying, “There you are.”

Maybe that’s one of the greatest compliments a horse can give us — the choice to come closer. ❤️

🐴 SURVIVOR CAMP IS ALMOST HERE!

Next week, some of our experienced young riders are taking over Willow Grove for one of our favourite traditions — Survivor Camp!

Five days of horses, learning, challenges, friendships and a whole lot of fun.

This year’s camp includes:

🐴 Gymnastic jumping with Lisa MacKay
🌿 Grass ring jumping with Trish + a Special Guest Coach
🩹 Equine first aid, bandaging & horse care
🧠 Horsemanship, wellness & stretching with Danielle
🏆 Course strategy & rider development
📚 Rider Level preparation & testing opportunities
🎨 A special art workshop with Sarah Hubbell
🎤 Team building, games, karaoke & movie night
🥞 Our traditional Friday sleep-in & pancake breakfast

And we’re finishing the week with a very special day with High Performance Coach & Master Horse Trainer Wendy Johnston.

Survivor Camp has never been just about spending more time in the saddle.

It’s about developing capable riders, knowledgeable horse people, teammates and young leaders — while making some pretty great memories along the way.

Survivor 2026… here we come. ❤️🐴

🐴 Adult Horsemanship Night with Danielle
Tuesday, August 11 | 5:00–7:00 PM

Sometimes the best learning happens out of the saddle.

Join Danielle for a fun, hands-on evening designed especially for our adult riders. We’ll slow things down, spend some quality time with the horses, and dig into the everyday horsemanship skills that make us better, more confident horse people.

We’ll cover:

🐴 Safe, confident handling
🪣 Basic care & everyday horse management
❤️ Wellness — what to notice and what your horse may be telling you
🤸 Stretching techniques to help keep our horses comfortable and feeling their best
💬 Your questions! Bring along anything you’ve been wondering about.

This isn’t a test and you definitely don’t need to know all the answers. It’s an opportunity to learn, ask questions, share experiences and enjoy an evening at the barn with our adult-rider community.

Tuesday, August 11
⏰ 5:00–7:00 PM
💰 $100 + GST, paid to Trish

Come in barn clothes, bring your questions and be ready to get hands-on!

Because becoming a better rider isn’t only about what happens in the saddle. ❤️
