Yesterday was something I’ll carry with me for a long time.

Hearts For Healthcare hosted such a moving unveiling of two pieces from my RED Series at the Cold Lake hospital. Both families joined us and shared stories about the people behind these portraits, their lives, their love, and the impact they made in our community and far beyond it.

It was incredibly special to hear their families speak Nancy Scanie and Jody John and to be reminded that these are so much more than photographs.

I’m deeply honoured to have been trusted to create these portraits, and it means even more knowing they now have a permanent home, where their stories can continue to be seen and remembered, and help keep the conversation going about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit People and Men.

And today, on Truth and Reconciliation Day, that feels especially meaningful. 🧡
