The Lilac Row
Thoughtfully grown, beautifully designed, and rooted in community. The Lilac Row is a third generation family farm located in Southern Alberta.
Farm-grown flowers and garden experiences in Southern Alberta
A third-generation family flower farm specializing in weddings, seasonal blooms, and hands-on floral and garden education. Our name comes from the long lilac hedge that was planted by our Grandparents, Mother, and Uncle when the farm was first built in 1965. Our flower farm, in both name and history, is a continuation of a multi-generational love of all things that bloom and grow.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon celebrating and remembering a beautiful friend. She lived an incredible life filled with adventure, and was beaming every time I saw her. She was a kindred spirit who loved to grow and garden and we will miss her dearly!

If you’ve done any of these, I can help. Gardening 101 is all about learning how to garden HERE, in our soil, with our climate and all the weird little challenges that come with it.
Whether you are a total beginner or have been struggling through for a few years, you are welcome!
September 30 @ 5:30pm. Be there!
Meet Charlyn Collins 💐
Charlyn, along with her siblings, grew up on their multigenerational family farm. Collectively, they decided that their generational contribution to the family farm was to go into the flower farming business.
Now offering Upick events, growing florals for weddings, and even sharing their knowledge through teaching classes - The Lilac Row has become a hub for all things flowers in Southern Alberta.

I’ve been refusing to acknowledge fall, but it appears to be happening with or without me.
So, we’ve got a couple of fall favourites coming up as we get ready to wrap up another season at the farm.
Gardening 101 is back September 30! Fall is actually a really great time to talk gardening. We’ll cover what you should be doing in the garden now, what can wait, and how to make life a whole lot easier come spring. I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned through my Master Gardener training, plus a whole lot of trial and error growing here at the farm.
Then on October 8, we’re bringing back our annual Pumpkin Centrepiece Workshop! This one sells out every year and has become our official season send-off. Flowers, pumpkins, c***r and one last evening at the farm before we tuck everything in for winter.
Gardening 101 | September 30 | $40/person
Pumpkin Centrepiece Workshop | October 8 | $90/person
Space is limited for both. Booking is now open at the link in our bio!

Fall cleanup season is coming in hot, and we’re looking for someone to join us for the next couple of months. Think cleaning up gardens, putting things to bed for winter, digging and processing a LOT of dahlias, and tackling the never ending list of random jobs that have collected over the season.
We’re looking for someone who is super organized, efficient and maybe just a little Type A. If you love a good list, naturally keep things on track and can work independently without needing a ton of direction, you might be exactly who we need. Gardening experience is definitely an asset since we won’t have a ton of time for training.
Fair warning, this is actual farm work and not frolicking through the flowers. You’ll need to be up for physical work and being outside in whatever fall weather Southern Alberta decides to throw at us.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, send us an email and tell us a little about yourself, your weekday availability and any relevant experience. And if you know someone who would be perfect, send this their way!

A little before and after. This arrangement was made to welcome a new little flower to The Lilac Row, my little niece!
Peonies kicking off the 2026 season with a BANG! I would cover our farm in peony plants if I could, but because we have so many lovely trees we are running out of planting space. Maybe it’s time to take over some more grass!?
