The Churchill Falls Library offers services to members of the community, as well as students, staff, and administration of Eric G. Lambert School.

Located on the second floor of the Donald Gordon Town Center, the Churchill Falls Library is an important resource for all community members, including students, staff and administration at Eric G Lambert School. As well as maintaining an active and up-to-date collection of adult fiction/non-fiction, junior fiction non/fiction, and the latest in children's books, we also maintain an excellent selection of current movies and television series (Game of Thrones, Vikings, Call the Midwife, etc.). As a part of our early literacy initiatives, the CF Library organizes and administers a Bookworm program (children from birth to Kindergarten) and StoryTime (children that are in pre-K), as well as a number of other programs designed to help children of all ages remain engaged with the written word. We also offer a number of programs for adults that are designed to promote continuous learning, and social engagement, i.e. crafting, cooking, book clubs, etc. For more information on the CF Library and the services we provide, please contact [email protected] or send us a private message. We welcome all concerns, questions and suggestions.

🟠 September 15th was International Dot Day and the library spent all week celebrating with our students and pre-schoolers.

🟡 We read the story The Dot by Peter Reynolds, had a discussion about the book, listened the the Dot Song by Emily Arrow and followed along with her actions, then made our own dot art. 📚

🔴 The kids were inspired and their creativity was shining bright. Everyone was excited to see each other’s art work. 🖼️ 🎨

🟢 Take a look 👀 at our Dot Day window display to spot your child’s creation and enjoy everyone’s work.

🟣 The winner of the Dot Day contest is Dakota Newman. She guessed 120 poms poms in the jar and there were 121 so she was the closest. Stop into the library to collect your prize Dakota! 🎉

🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣 International Dot Day at the Churchill Falls Library!

Today, the Churchill Falls Library had the pleasure of celebrating International Dot Day with Miss Cheeseman’s Grade 1 class and Miss Card’s Grade 4 class!

We read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and talked about what it means to “make your mark” — having the courage to try, being creative, and seeing where your imagination can take you.

Of course, we had to make some marks of our own! 🎨 Each student created their own special dot, and we finished our visit with a little dancing to The Dot Song.

Lots of creativity, lots of smiles, and lots of colourful dots!

🔴 And be sure to check out the Churchill Falls Library windows — you just might spot YOUR mark on display! 🟡🟢🔵

Thank you to Miss Cheeseman, Miss Card, and all of the students for celebrating with us. What a fun Dot Day! ❤️
