Connecting art and people in Chatham-Kent.

HISTORY
ARTspace was formed in 2008 as a joint initiative between the Thames Art Gallery and an interested group of Chatham-Kent artists. It has since grown into a cultural hub that represents approximately 30 fine artists and 5 artisans, and offers affordable arts programming to the surrounding community. PHILOSOPHY
ARTspace is a not-for-profit gallery dedicated to the promotion and development of Chatham-Kent artists engaged in contemporary visual arts practice. The gallery maintains a special focus on exhibiting and promoting a diversity of artistic practices within the region of Chatham-Kent. VISION
In addition to our goal of expanding artistic discourse through exhibition programming, a significant part of the gallery’s vision includes professional development and support. Members are encouraged to access information and skills training offered through the gallery in the form of resources, workshops, studio visits, volunteering opportunities, and gallery openings.

NEW EXHIBIT‼️For the Love of Bugs: Janet Johnston🐞🦋🐝

⭐ On now until November 14
⏰ ARTspace Hours: Wednesday to Saturday from 12:00-5:00pm

➡ A portion of the artist’s proceeds from sales will be donated to Wildlife Preservation Canada, to support efforts to prevent species at risk from going extinct.

Throughout history, species have evolved, thrived and declined. Today’s extinction rate, however, is higher than the natural baseline rate due to pressures from human activity. This collection of hand-drawn and painted ceramic tiles is a tribute to insects currently at risk in Ontario. The works pose a striking contrast between the beauty and importance of these creatures, and the very real threat of their disappearance.
