✨ Old is gold! ✨
There’s something extra special about the bond we share with our senior cats. 🐱💛 As they get older, you may notice them slowing down, becoming less active, or having a little more difficulty getting around—but getting older doesn’t mean they can’t continue to enjoy a happy, comfortable life.
A few simple changes can help your senior cat thrive throughout their golden years:
🩺 Keep up with wellness visits every 6 months
🥣 Adjust their diet to meet their changing needs
🧶 Encourage gentle play and regular movement
🛏️ Give them soft, supportive places to rest
👀 Pay attention to changes in behaviour, activity, or mobility
Regular wellness care and early detection can help us recognize changes sooner and support your cat as their needs evolve with age.

🦃🍂 Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂🦃

Just a reminder that all CK Vets locations are closed today for the Thanksgiving holiday.

We hope you and your pets have a safe, relaxing, and happy Thanksgiving! 🧡🐾
Regular clinic hours will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13th.

If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please contact VetWise at getvetwise.ca or call 647-695-5411 to speak with an RVT who can triage your pet, or call the Walker Road Emergency Hospital at 519-972-9000 prior to driving there.

💙🐾 THANK YOU! 🐾💙

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, this year’s Farley Foundation Walk-a-thon raised $1,136 and counting! 🎉
Every dollar raised helps the Farley Foundation provide veterinary care to pets whose families are facing financial hardship—helping keep beloved companions healthy and together with the people who love them.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, collected pledges, joined us at Peers Wetlands, visited our vendors, and helped make the day such a success! Whether you walked the trail, stopped by to say hello, or supported the event from afar, we are so grateful to have you behind this wonderful cause. 🐶🐱

We’re incredibly proud of what our community accomplished together—and we’re not done yet! Donations are still coming in, so that total continues to grow. 💙

🐱 The Golden Years can bring changes you can't always see. 💛
Your senior cat may still seem perfectly healthy on the outside, while subtle changes are beginning beneath the surface. Regular wellness visits and early detection can help us identify those changes sooner and keep your cat healthier, more comfortable, and by your side for years to come.
There are also simple ways you can support your cat as they age:
🐾 Schedule a wellness visit every 6 months
🥣 Feed a diet suited to their changing nutritional needs
🧶 Keep them moving with gentle, regular play
🛏️ Provide comfortable bedding and easy access to their favourite places
👀 Watch for subtle changes in appetite, movement, behaviour, or bathroom habits
Our Golden Years Wellness Bundles are designed to support your cat's changing needs and make proactive senior care a little easier.

🐾 October is Fundraise for Farley Month! 💙

Throughout October, veterinary clinics across Ontario are coming together to raise funds for the Farley Foundation, helping pets receive essential veterinary care when their families are facing financial hardship.

The Farley Foundation helps eligible pet owners—including seniors receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement, people with disabilities, and others experiencing significant financial hardship—access veterinary care for their beloved companions when they need it most.
This October, Chatham-Kent Veterinary Hospital is fundraising for Farley, and we would love your help!

Stop by CKVH to make a donation and add your name—or your pet’s name—to one of our Farley paw prints! 🐾 Every contribution, big or small, helps support the bond between people and their pets and gives more animals access to the veterinary care they need.

Together, we can help keep more pets healthy, happy, and where they belong—with the people who love them. 💙

Ask one of our CKVH team members how you can donate!

🐾 The Farley Foundation Walk-a-thon is TOMORROW! 🐾

Join us at Peers Wetland in Wallaceburg tomorrow from 10 AM–2 PM for the annual Farley Foundation Walk-a-thon! 💙

Don’t forget to stop by and visit the CK Vets team while you’re there! We’ll be out enjoying the day, supporting a wonderful cause, and spending time with some of our favourite four-legged friends. 🐶🐾

We can’t wait to see everyone there!

🐾 Your dog may be getting older—but not every change that comes with age is easy to see. 💛
Many age-related health changes can begin before your dog shows obvious signs that something is wrong. An Early Detection Exam gives us the opportunity to look for those subtle changes, establish important health baselines, and identify potential concerns sooner.
If your dog is over 6 years old, now is a great time to start taking a more proactive approach to their health and help keep them feeling their best through their golden years. 🐶
📅 Contact your CK Vets clinic to book an Early Detection Exam today!
