Kindred offers affordable and accessible counseling and community programming across Alberta

At Kindred, we’re convinced the key to living well is healthy relationships with self, family, and others. But relationships are complicated and sometimes we find ourselves in vulnerable places, disconnected from those who matter most. Kindred’s purpose is to realize the power of human connection, and it shapes everything we do. Whether nuclear or chosen, family is the most important relationship in a person’s life. So, we invest in the special bond between children and those that care for them. We provide road maps toward healing when essential relationships are ruptured. And we understand that accessing timely mental health support can inspire confidence with self and others. Healthy human connection is possible, and together we can realize it.

Thank you for highlighting the impact of our Prenatal Outreach Support Team (POST)!

We’re proud to partner with CUPS Calgary and the Calgary Police Service to deliver support to pregnant individuals and new parents, helping build safer, healthier futures for children and families in Calgary.

If you or someone you know could use support, learn more about POST and Kindred’s other programs here: https://www.kindred.ca/need-help/parenting-supports/post/

Every child deserves a safe start. 💙

This Child Abuse Prevention Month, we're highlighting the Prenatal Outreach Support Team (POST), a partnership between Kindred Connections Society, CUPS Calgary & the Calgary Police Service. POST provides support to vulnerable pregnant individuals & new parents.

There have been over 100 referrals to POST so far in 2026.

One woman came to POST while experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, & domestic abuse, all while preparing to welcome her third child. Through consistent support including weekly check-ins, connections to housing, healthcare & community resources, she began taking meaningful steps toward stability.

Despite facing significant barriers, she remained committed to creating a better future for her children. Today, she is safely caring for her children, has strong supports in place, and is thriving as a parent.

Her story is a powerful reminder that small steps can lead to life-changing outcomes. By supporting parents, POST helps create safer, healthier futures for children.

You don’t need to have the perfect words to start a conversation, and you don’t have to navigate difficult moments alone.

Our team is here to listen and support you. Explore our rapid access counselling services here: https://www.kindred.ca/need-help/mental-health-services/rac/

Thank you, Kindred community 🌼

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped us celebrate the opening of our new Program Centre. Families, friends, supporters, and community partners came together for an afternoon of connection, activities, and learning.

After marking this new chapter with an official ribbon-cutting, guests explored the space, met our team, and learned more about the programs and services supporting children, youth, parents, and caregivers across Calgary.

To everyone who spent the afternoon with us, thank you for making our new space already feel like home. We can’t wait to see all the moments of connection, growth, and belonging that unfold here.
