🔥 JUDGE HELMET — PAINT PROGRESS 🔥

The Judge helmet is finally getting its red, and that makes a huge difference right away.

After all the sanding, prep work, masking and a frankly unreasonable amount of patience, it’s finally starting to look like the finished piece instead of a collection of parts and questionable life choices. 😅

Seeing that bold red go on really brings the whole build to life. There’s still more to do — cleanup, detailing, weathering and finishing touches — but it has officially reached the stage where it starts looking properly mean.

HELL-BENT is finished. 💀🟡

Just completed this Helldivers 2 Hell-Bent helmet prop today.

This one got the full treatment — hand-painted details, heavy weathering, real scratches, worn metal effects, battle damage, and that unmistakable yellow skull across the face.

I wanted it to look like something that had actually survived deployment, not something that just came fresh out of a box.

Definitely one of my favourite builds so far.

🔥 HELL-BENT HELMET — PAINT PROGRESS 🔥

The Hell-Bent Helmet is finally getting its iconic face paint!

That bold yellow skull is now going on, and it instantly changes the whole look of the helmet. This is always one of the most satisfying stages, because it suddenly starts looking less like a workbench project and more like the finished piece it’s supposed to be.

There’s still more to do, of course — because apparently a helmet is not allowed to simply be finished. It still needs grime, weathering, cleanup and the final detailing to really sell that battle-worn Helldivers look.

But it’s definitely getting there now.

🔥 SHORETROOPER HELMET — BUILD PROGRESS 🔥

Another helmet is starting to come to life!

After printing, assembling, filling seams and spending what feels like several geological eras sanding everything smooth, the Shoretrooper helmet is finally getting its first coat of primer. 😅

Primer is always one of my favourite stages because it suddenly pulls all the separate printed pieces together and starts making it look like an actual helmet.

Of course, the primer will also reveal every tiny imperfection I somehow missed… because apparently that is its true purpose in life.

Next up: another sanding and cleanup pass, followed by the proper colours, details and plenty of weathering.

🌿✨ HAND-PAINTED FOREST DRYAD CANDLE HOLDER ✨🌿
One of my newest fantasy pieces — a Forest Dryad Candle Holder, individually 3D printed and hand-painted to bring out all those twisted roots, vines, leaves, and little details.
I went with an aged bronze/gold finish mixed with deep forest greens to give her that ancient, enchanted-forest look. Add a flickering tea light and she really comes to life. 🔥
Each one is painted by hand, so every piece will have its own subtle variations.

HELL-BENT HELMET — PAINT PROGRESS 🛠️🔥
The first coat of black is officially down on the Helldivers 2 Hell-Bent Helmet!
This is still just the beginning of the paint process. Next up: wet sanding, because apparently making something smooth once isn't enough, and then we'll start adding the proper colours, details, and finishing touches that will really bring this helmet to life.
Really happy with how clean everything is looking so far. More progress coming soon!

The pieces are finally together!
After printing, filling, sanding, priming and a frankly unreasonable amount of more sanding, the Hell-Bent Helmet is now fully assembled and starting to look like the finished piece.
Next up: cleaning the seams, a final sanding pass… and then PAINT. 🎨
That’s when this one should really start coming to life.

This clean Stormtrooper helmet is all about that fresh, polished, straight-out-of-the-armory look.

I make both weathered and clean versions, and this one came out looking crisp as hell.

The Stormtrooper-inspired helmet is officially complete!

The final missing piece — the green visor — has now been installed, and it completely brings the helmet to life. Between the scratches, grime, worn edges, and battle-tested finish, this one looks like it has seen a few missions and survived most of them.

This was such a fun project from start to finish: 3D printed, sanded, painted, weathered, detailed, and hand-finished by Fable Forge Props.

Heavy Mandalorian armour paint test!

I sprayed this failed helmet print silver, added toothpaste as a masking paste — yes, actual toothpaste — and then sprayed a black top coat.

Once the paint dried, I washed the toothpaste away and revealed the chipped-metal effect underneath. Cheap, simple, slightly ridiculous, and surprisingly effective.

This was only a test piece, but the technique worked well enough that I’ll be using it on the Heavy Mandalorian helmet and eventually the full armour set.

Sometimes prop making is precision craftsmanship. Sometimes it is putting toothpaste on a helmet and trusting the process.
