Celebrating 62 years of Malta’s Independence 🇲🇹

On 21 September 1964, Malta embarked on a new chapter in its history as an independent nation. Today, 62 years later, we commemorate this important milestone and celebrate the history, heritage and identity that continue to shape Malta and its people.

On this occasion, the High Commission of Malta in Canada proudly recognises the Maltese-Canadian community, whose generations of families have made Canada their home while preserving and sharing Malta’s rich traditions, culture and heritage.

Across Canada, the community continues to be an important link between Malta and Canada and an integral part of the enduring friendship between our two countries.

The High Commission extends its warmest wishes to all Maltese people, to all friends of Malta in Canada, and to the Maltese-Canadian community across Canada on this special occasion.

Niċċelebraw 62 sena mill-Indipendenza ta’ Malta 🇲🇹

Fil-21 ta’ Settembru 1964, Malta fetħet kapitlu ġdid fl-istorja tagħha bħala nazzjon indipendenti. Illum, 62 sena wara, infakkru dan il-mument importanti u niċċelebraw l-istorja, il-wirt u l-identità li jkomplu jsawru lil Malta u lill-poplu tagħha.

F’din l-okkażjoni, il-Kummissjoni Għolja ta’ Malta fil-Kanada tirrikonoxxi bi kburija lill-komunità Maltija-Kanadiża, li ġenerazzjonijiet ta’ familji għażlu lill-Kanada bħala darhom, filwaqt li komplew jippreservaw u jaqsmu t-tradizzjonijiet, il-kultura u l-wirt għani ta’ Malta.

Madwar il-Kanada, il-komunità tkompli tkun rabta importanti bejn Malta u l-Kanada u parti integrali mill-ħbiberija dejjiema bejn iż-żewġ pajjiżi tagħna.

Il-Kummissjoni Għolja tesprimi l-isbaħ xewqat tagħha lill-Maltin kollha, lill-ħbieb kollha ta’ Malta fil-Kanada, u lill-komunità Maltija-Kanadiża madwar il-Kanada f’din l-okkażjoni speċjali.

On Saturday August 29th, the Malta Band will present our combined Santa Maria & Il-Vittoria Festa Dinner & Dance. The kitchen and bar staff will be preparing an excellent dinner which will be followed by dancing to music from our resident DJ. The Malta Band will start the event with a short concert featuring traditional marches.
