Just in case you were in need of some GOOD NEWS! On October 1st, 267 artifacts and cultural belongings were returned to the Yale Historic Site after being stored at the Kilby Historic Site over the summer while Yale faced the threat of wildfire.
An immense thank you to volunteers Dev, Tama, Bronwyn, Bert, and Loren for making this possible. Thank you to our curatorial assistant Kyra who ensured everything was inventoried and packed extra safely. And most importantly, a HUGE bravo to Abigail Balisky who navigated a fraught summer with wisdom and diligence in her very first season as Yale Historic Site's museum manager. Congratulations!
We are so glad that we were able to offer support and we are thrilled to see these artifacts and belongings return safely. Here's to the good we can do when community comes together and when we are brave enough to ask for, and offer, help.
