Cerro Cahui, sobre el Lago Peten Itza.
On Saturday the 25th of April, While on a canoe trip on the beautiful Sibun River we saw a Crane Hawk on the gallery forest. It had its pinkish reddish eyes and pinkish reddish long legs. It posed undisturbed as it was just checking out us as estrange creatures.
Floated down stream the Sibun river on an inner tube all by my self, saw a medium size Moreletti crocodile, it was a bit intense sighting since the water was turbid due to the recent rains! however the croc was quick to avoid me. Other sightings were BT Tiger Heron and at the take out point a Neotropical River Otter. I wish I had a GoPro to capture all of this...oh well another time hopefully.
