PUBLIC NOTICE: Planned Power Outage for Ambergris Caye

Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) has announced a planned power outage affecting the entire island of Ambergris Caye on:

📅 Sunday, June 7, 2026
🕖 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

According to BEL, the outage is necessary to facilitate critical system improvement works, including the replacement of utility poles and high-voltage line hardware, maintenance at the San Pedro Substation, testing of underground cables, vegetation management, and the removal of bird nests from power lines.

These upgrades are aimed at improving the reliability and stability of the island’s electricity supply.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to make the necessary preparations ahead of the scheduled outage.

BEL apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
