💧🌲Healthy forests. Healthy watersheds. Healthy communities.

Our forests play a vital role in protecting the water resources we depend on. Sustainable forest management helps safeguard water quality, reduce erosion, and keep our waterways healthy.

A first round of water quality data collection has been completed along two important waterways in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve , Oak Burn Creek and Privassion Creek. 🌲💦

The activity is being led by professors from the University of Belize, together with undergraduate students.

We look forward to the results and are excited to be collaborating with the University of Belize to better understand and protect these important waterways.

Protecting the Health of Our Pine Forests 🌲

As part of our ongoing forest monitoring, Bulridge recently identified small, localized areas of bark beetle infestation within the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve.

Bark beetles are a natural part of pine forest ecosystems, but stressed or weakened trees can be more vulnerable to infestation. Drought and changing environmental conditions can also increase tree stress.

Because early detection is key, Bulridge is working with the Forest Department and BAHA to assess the affected areas and determine the appropriate mitigation measures. Steps are already being taken to manage the affected trees and reduce the risk of spread to surrounding areas.

Proactive monitoring and early action are essential to maintaining healthy, resilient pine forests.

We thank the Forest Department and BAHA for their technical expertise and collaboration in today’s field assessment. 🌿

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

8th September 2026

Bulridge Ltd. expresses its profound sadness following the tragic accident that claimed the life of our beloved staff member, Mauricio Solis, age 49, of San Ignacio Town, Cayo District.

The accident occurred on September 3, 2026, in the Mountain Pine Ridge approaching the Guacamallo Bridge, while Solis was a passenger on a work truck belonging to a private contractor hired to work in the area. Solis was on duty at the time and was tasked with accompanying the private contractor to the designated worksite.

Our entire Bulridge family and team are heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. Mauricio was a valued member of the Bulridge family, and his passing has left a deep void among his family, colleagues, and friends. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, children, and loved ones and ask that they be given the privacy, compassion, and respect they deserve during this extremely difficult time.

We also strongly condemn the sensationalism surrounding his tragic death and the callous circulation of videos of the accident on social media. The sharing of such distressing footage is disrespectful and inconsiderate to Mauricio’s grieving family. We urge everyone to show compassion and refrain from further circulating these videos. We also call on all media houses and pseudo-media entities operating online to remove all footage depicting his tragic death.

Furthermore, Bulridge Ltd. wishes to clarify information reported by News 5 regarding the accident and the equipment involved. No equipment belonging to Bulridge Ltd. was involved in the accident, and no Bulridge employee was operating any equipment involved in the accident.

The dump truck, trailer, and backhoe involved belong to Bahadur Trucking & Backhoe Service/Kurt Bahadur, a private contractor from Santa Elena Town, Cayo District. The dump truck was being driven by Mr. Bahadur’s employee. The investigation into this matter is now in the hands of the police.

As of today, the Belize Police Department has not issued an official report on the accident. Like the family, Bulridge Ltd. is awaiting official information regarding the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

Safety remains a priority for Bulridge Ltd., particularly in the transportation and movement of heavy equipment, and we continue to uphold strict safety practices throughout our operations.

At this time, our hearts remain with Mauricio’s family. We mourn this devastating loss alongside them and extend our deepest sympathies to everyone who knew and loved him.

May Mauricio rest in peace, and may his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
