Woodlands Stop Over and Lodge is a beautiful self-catering establishment situated just 15kms on the northern outskirts of Francistown Botswana along the Tati River and in the vacinity of the famous Old Hunters' Road. A "PEEK" view from a small vantage point --
Even this opportunistic juvenile Vervet Monkey casts his young eyes over our BUSH CAMP to see if there is anything worth taking a chance for!!!
Little 'scally wags'!!!
He only saw a beautiful flowering Stelitzia! Better luck next time!
BUT as valued guests please always keep your room and car doors closed as they are on the look out all the time!!

WHAT AN AMAZING SEASON!
Everything is flourishing and growing.
This committed Red Billed Hornbill is kept very busy feeding a growing family.
They took over the old nesting hole of a Woodland Kingfisher. One of the pair of Kingfishers flew into a glass door last season and killed itself. The spouse was left alone and grieving with no life partner to breed with.
This young HORNBILL family wasted no time in setting up residence and providing us all with lovely bird watching just outside of our Woodlands cottage and Riverview #1 & 2 🐦🐦⬛

2020 COVID HORROR YEAR!
Closed and no business for 18 months.
However, as we look back we have these fond memories of winter 2020!!
The KUDU NEVER LOCKED DOWN! They enjoyed the salt lick, as seen in the pictures, and came right onto the front garden lawn. (apologies for poor photos of Kudu)
They left 'KUDU' paths all through the property cultivating and pruning the gardens without any reservation.
They have never been back quite like this!! How sad??
