After I completed my training I left for Bahrain in 1994. During this time I met Aboobacker from Kerala. He became my pillar of strength and till date is involved in my business. Finally the struggle reached fruition point. I opened my own store by the name of “Gems Gallery” in 1998 in Bahrain. Then came the big blow. The store did not do well. It was my resilience that saw me through this tough p

hase. By 2000 I had recovered sufficiently from my initial setback and I opened my new store Ramzana in Bahrain. Again the struggle started to make the store a success. I started putting up stalls at open air exhibitions. The temperature would be soaring while I tried to sell gold and silver Jewellery. Whatever money I made I used to invest that back in the business because it was at the back of my mind to open new stores. I started recruiting more staff. After that there was no looking back. One store multiplied in to eight in Bahrain and a factory, two in Qatar and a factory, One in Dubai One in Gurgaon India and one in Srinagar India. There is an in interesting anecdote as to how Ramzana was launched in Qatar. I got a chance to go to Qatar with AAFES with whom I used to work with at Sheikh Isa base Bahrain. In Qatar I was told to open a store in the base. The time period two days. It was a new country and a new location. However we went through all the complicated steps of opening a shop in mere two days. It was a challenge and we succeeded. That was my stepping stone in Qatar and rest of the shops followed. Dubai was another milestone in my career. I often used to go to Dubai for purchase purposes. In 2010 while going to Dubai it struck me that it made business sense to open an office there as my visits were becoming more frequent. The Agent who was looking for the office informed me that there was a shop available at the same mall. It was unplanned but I seized the opportunity. The Dubai shop has proved to be a boon for the business. Dubai is the hub of most of the Jewellery related activities whether it is wholesale or retail. It has helped us with availing variety in relation to goods. It has also helped us establishing business links with many new suppliers. In the early days of my business I used to outsource customized orders. But I never used to be satisfied. I always used to feel that we should have our own manufacturing units for quality control purposes and to give the best available service to the customers. Now all our customized orders are manufactured at our own manufacturing units. Our staff is thoroughly trained in the Jewellery business. They attend training sessions to update their knowledge of jewellery. They are courteous and helpful and provide excellent service to the clients. We have a Staff annual day whereby the deserving staff is honoured with certificates and gifts. I am especially grateful to the following members of staff who helped Ramzana reach the heights it has. I take this opportunity to thank my family, customers and staff for their unstinting support which has made my incredible journey possible. I and my teams strive with prioritization, patience, sheer hard work and strategization to open a branch of Ramzana in all the major cities of the world. Thus the journey continues……..
