I’ve been fascinated by the moon for a while now, but you’ve probably already noticed that. One of the first Lunar-based drawings I created is exactly four years old today. I also realised it hadn’t been given a proper spot on Instagram yet, so here it is. This is β€˜Korst’.

β€˜Korst’ is an interpretation β€˜The moon: considered as a planet, a world, a satellite’ by James Nashmyth and James Carpender. (Image 2) Their research marked the start of mine, and this drawing too.

Tomorrow I’m taking the Eurostar to Southampton! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ There, the short version of my film β€œCyclus” will be screened at the John Hanson Gallery during the British Science Festival.

Creating worlds through live drawing, animation, and music, what once began as an improvisation with & .dries.music (Collab Coalition) has grown into this cyclical experience. And as luck would have it: the film is screening on my birthday, of all days! Two reasons to celebrate in september the 20th!πŸ₯‚πŸŽ‚

& Patrick and Dries for guiding this journey to the moon &, of course, my biggest supporter, Sam Heyvaert, who gets to enjoy this journey with me!

You might not even have noticed, but I was away for a bit. My works, however, were on display in Sint-Niklaas, at the β€˜Future Icons’ exhibition. They’ll be there until Sunday, and I’ll be there too to bring them back home. You can find us there from 2 pm to 5 pm.

All credits for the photo report goes to Iwert Bernakiewicz ; if the closing event is as lively as the opening, I’d make sure you’re there.
