Barbados Film & Television Association recently participated in a series of engagements with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, including last Friday evening’s China-Aid Human Resources Training Programme reception.

Our President, Senator Jamal Slocombe, and Chief Executive Officer, Benjamin Henry, were in attendance alongside Board Directors Kashka Mottley, Travis Springer, and DeVito Wallace.

We are pleased to confirm that over the coming months, members of the Board as well as representatives from the wider membership will be selected to participate in training and development opportunities in China.

We the Barbados Film & Television Association extend our sincere congratulations to our President, Senator Jamal Slocombe , on his appointment to the Upper House of Parliament by the President of Barbados, The Most Honourable Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey D. Bostic. This appointment reflects his continued dedication to national service and leadership, including within the creative industries.

We’ve had a highly productive year at the BFTA, capped off last evening with our final Board Meeting for the year. During the meeting, President Jamal Slocombe made special presentations to 2nd Vice President .alleyne and CEO , both of whom have gone above and beyond the call of duty over the past year to help drive meaningful progress for our membership.

This year we focused heavily on advocacy at the Governmental level while also strengthening our internal operations and aligning them with international best practices, and we have delivered tangible results for our members.

We’re excited about what lies ahead and look forward to sharing more, as well as hearing from you, at this Thursday’s Membership Meeting and Holiday Mixer. 🎄🎁
