Yuendumu School

🌟 Warlpiri Schools shining at the NT Bilingual Education Conference in Darwin! 🌟

We have five of our teachers representing Yuendumu School at a conference celebrating bilingual education and learning from educators across the NT and beyond.

Our team has been exploring the NT Learning & Teaching Model and sharing the amazing work happening in our Warlpiri bilingual education program.

🧠 Yamurna, NC and Rachel presented the Warlpiri Brain Story to teachers from across the NT, SA and WA, sharing how understanding the brain can support student learning.

💚 NC and Yamurna also shared how we use the Warlpiri Zones of Regulation at Yuendumu School to help our students feel safe, calm and ready to learn.

🎶 To finish, the ladies from Yuendumu, Lajamanu, Nyirripi and Willowra came together to sing Marlu Witalpa, demonstrating how we use and teach rdaka rdaka (hand signs) in our schools.

We are so proud to see our teachers sharing their knowledge, celebrating Warlpiri language and culture, and learning alongside other bilingual educators. Our languages, cultures and ways of learning are strengths that help our students grow! 🧡

We can’t wait to see our students playing Ultimate Frisbee next week! 🥏

Great job, Yuendumu! ❤️🧡

Last week, we saw lots of kids coming back to school, and it was wonderful to see! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.

Let’s keep working together to get every kid to school, every day! 🎒📚

It takes all of us — families, community members and the school — to help our kids get to school and ready to learn.

Every kid matters. Every day counts. Let’s do this, Yuendumu! 💪🏽
