Self Help Workplace

Packing away the winter coats? Encore Clothing will happily take the ones you're not keeping.

As wardrobes turn over for spring, donated coats, jumpers and boots get checked, washed and put back into circulation for someone who needs them through next winter. Clothes, shoes, handbags, books and bric-a-brac are all welcome, our one rule is simple: don't donate anything you wouldn't hand to a friend.

Drop donations at the on-site bin, in store, or at reception, 414 Hobart Road, Youngtown, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Encore regulars, this one's for you.

Sign up in store for a loyalty card and every $100 you spend earns an entry into our voucher draw, held up to four times a year, with no limit on how many completed cards you can enter. Members also get first word on new stock and upcoming sales.

Ask in store next time you visit to sign up.

Morning tea for a good cause!

Yesterday we hosted our Pink Ribbon morning tea at the Self Help Workplace canteen. It was a great event with lots of delicious goodies made by our team in Plenty Catering and Hire. Lots of people were decked out in pink and made some generous donations to the cause!

Spring clean extends to the filing cabinet too.

Merit Commercial Solutions offers secure document destruction for Launceston businesses, from a single box to a full office clean-out. We deliver a wheelie bin to your site, collect it once it's full, and everything is ribbon-cut and baled for recycling.

Support my Pink Ribbon Breakfast for breast cancer I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast event to raise money for life-saving breast cancer research. Please donate to help make a difference to Australians affected by breast cancer.

There's a difference between a job and a placement, and it's one we take seriously.

Every person on our floor, whether they're running a saw at Prime, folding mail-outs at Merit, mowing a job for Spruce, working the till at Encore or plating up for Plenty, is an employee, paid properly for real work that a real customer is paying for. That's the whole model, and it's been the model since 1962.

Want to see what that looks like day to day? Follow along this month as we show more of it.

A tidy front yard says more about a street than any of us like to admit.

Spruce handles regular mowing, brush cutting and garden bed tidy-ups for homes across greater Launceston, on a set schedule or as a one-off before the in-laws visit.

Either way, it's one less weekend spent behind a mower.
