The historic tall ship Alma Doepel is close to returning to sea, with one key step remaining, a full new set of sails!
An EOFY appeal is underway to raise $80,000 to make it happen, with all donations matched dollar for dollar before 30 June.

The expansion of the 5 knot zone is finally being implemented.
Unfortunately it will do nothing to stop the surge from commercial shipping and ferries.
Ports and Freight Minister Melissa Horne MP said, “The safety of people on boats in Williamstown is paramount. That’s why it’s pleasing to see this new rule come into place to make sure that our boating community are protected from wave surges.”
So the question remains, what's being done to address the serious safety concerns caused by commercial vessels transiting the shipping channel at 25 knots and causing damaging surge every day?
We've tried to arrange a meeting with the operator regarding our safety concerns and they refused to meet.
