Staff Wellbeing Week
Mon 7 - Fri 11 September
During Week 9, Wantirna College will be celebrating Staff Wellbeing Week. To acknowledge the incredible dedication and hard work our teachers and staff put in every day to support students, we are asking parents/carers to take the opportunity to express their appreciation by letting us know about a staff member who has made a positive impact on your child's learning journey. This can be a teacher or support staff member.
Your kind words and recognition will be shared with our staff during Staff Wellbeing Week and beyond, serving as a source of encouragement and gratitude.
To submit your staff recognition, please send an email to [email protected] with the name of the teacher or staff member and a brief message of appreciation.

*Important Meeting*
Digital Devices in our Classrooms
Wed 2 Sept, 3pm - 4:30pm
Senior Centre (meet 3pm Staff Lounge)
Parents and student leaders are invited to attend our teacher meeting next to discuss whether digital devices in our classrooms are helping or hindering learning. Recently Dr Jared Cooney Horvath presented compelling research to our staff about how digital devices are distracting students from learning and are a barrier to forming positive relationships.
We are looking to make some significant changes to how digital devices are used at Wantirna College next year and invite parents and student leaders to be part of the decision making process.
We will meet at 3pm in the Staff Lounge before heading to the Senior Centre.

Friday 27 August is Wear It Purple Day, a day to show support for LGBTQIA+ young people and to celebrate a world where everyone can feel safe, respected, included and proud to be themselves.
The 2026 theme, Colours of Courage 🌈 celebrates the courage it takes to be yourself. Together, we can help create a community where everyone feels that they belong.
Staff and students are encouraged to wear a 'touch of purple' to show their support. This could be as simple as purple socks, a ribbon, bow, scrunchie or another purple accessory! *Please note this is not a free dress/out of uniform day.
