Eight years of black and red box colour doesn’t disappear in one appointment — and healthy hair should never be sacrificed trying to make it happen.

Today wasn’t about chasing blonde.
It wasn’t about forcing a result.

It was about carefully removing the first layers of her colour history while protecting the hair underneath.

We lifted. We watched. We assessed. We stopped when her hair told us to.

And this is where we landed. 🤎

A softer, dimensional brunette with warmth running through it — and no breakage.

Most importantly, we’ve created a new starting point.

From here, her journey is about hair health first. Rebuilding strength, improving condition, growing beautiful healthy hair and gradually removing more of that old colour only when her hair is ready.

There may be some ugly-duckling moments along the way.
There will be warmth.
There will be patience.

But the goal isn’t the lightest hair possible.

The goal is her healthiest hair yet.

She sits in my chair and says…

“I don’t really know what I want. I just know I don’t feel like me anymore.”

And after more than 20 years behind the chair, I’ve learned that this is often where the appointment really begins.

Not with a colour chart.

Not with a Pinterest photo.

With her.

Because everyone who sits in my chair arrives with a story.

Maybe your hair has been damaged and you’re nervous to trust someone again.

Maybe you’ve moved to Cairns and still haven’t found your hairdresser.

Maybe life has changed.

Maybe you’ve changed.

Or maybe you just want to look in the mirror and feel like yourself again.

So before we do anything, I listen.

What do you love about your hair? What isn’t working? How much time do you actually have for it? And how do you want to feel when you leave?

Because beautiful hair shouldn’t make your life harder.

Sometimes we colour.
Sometimes we cut.
Sometimes we add extensions.
Sometimes we repair.

And sometimes I’ll tell you “not yet” — because I’m not only thinking about how your hair looks today.

I’m looking after the hair you’re going to have six months from now.

Then comes my favourite part.

The cape comes off.

The chair turns.

You look in the mirror…

And there you are. 🤎
