Celebrations ran across the day at our 60+ residences in VIC, NSW, QLD, ACT and SA, where residents, families and team members came together to celebrate the people who make Arcare Aged Care home.

Like last year, our marketing correspondents James in QLD and Josh in VIC are back on the ground, bringing you today's celebrations across Arcare Aged Care as they happened.

In today's coverage: we're checking in with some of the runners-up and winners of the Arcare Star Awards 2026 at Keysborough and Cheltenham, and proudly celebrating Taigum QLD, recipient of our new award, Star Residence of the Year.

Our winners, runners-up, finalists and nominees were all put forward by residents, their families and fellow team members. To all of you, thank you. Your work changes lives, and today we celebrate every one of you. 💜

There is something special about the people who have seen a century of life, and Florence is one of them.

At 106, and recently honoured with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), Florence is a familiar face to many in our community, having shared her advice with us before. Her message remains just as meaningful today.

When you retire, she says, do not retire from life. Say yes to new ventures, keep busy, and hold onto the people around you. A long and happy life, in her words, comes down to always having something to look forward to. 💜

Always a delight to share insights from Florence.

"Well, I've read hundreds of books, and I've never read one telling you what it's really like to go into a home."

So Evelyn is writing that book herself.

It started as research. She wanted to know where she would go if the day ever came that she needed more care. She found Arcare Gisborne, and she hasn't looked back once.

Evelyn is a social butterfly, and her rule is simple: the bigger the community, the better. Here, she found one. Team member Hasti shares how Evelyn befriends other residents and enjoys getting to know her fellow suite neighbours, and those friendships are finding their way into her chapters.

She hopes her book can help others feel more prepared as they navigate their own next chapter.

Construction is well underway on Arcare Gold Creek, our 3rd residence in the ACT. Rising in the historic Gold Creek Homestead Precinct, this 3-storey residence opens in 2027 with 124 suites.
