A good day today, Hay yields and quality have been extraordinary, lentils are good, barley is going very well, canola 👍 and just starting some wheat at Kyalite which is also good. 👍
Had to map some burnt areas, but less hectares than predicted which is great news also.
A gentle spring has helped deliver good results on a very lean rainfall year. 😌👌👍🌧️

Interesting day out checking our Irrigated crops.
Popany Vetch for hay, different canola varieties, Neo Barley and self sown H**p as a trial.

Some times you make a change to a farm rotation at the last moment.
Always grown peas on this farm for the
35 years I have dealt with them. This year there were no peas in the rotation, but Don, asked for 3 tonne to be sown somewhere on the farm.
Yep, made it happen in a driveway paddock.

Dusty pre Anzac Day, better now. 😊
Tough days coming up with the funeral of one of our inaugural clients. Vale Geoff Nalder, a good friend, mentor and meticulous farmer.
Our thoughts and best wishes go out to his wife Kerry, their boys, Ben, Ryan, Simon and their families.
❤️🌹
We were also saddened to hear of the passing of Danny Nalder. He was a client from the Swan Hill Chemical days and an innovator in the local farming industry. Sending best wishes to his family. 💐💕

Early morning and a cold frosty morning. 🥶
Remembering what seems to be like yesterday while working at Swan Hill Chemicals P/L in the late 1990’s
I was working with a client who saw things differently in farming and life.
Danny Nalder, was one of the pioneers to help turn the Mallee into what is now a common practice.
I remember him turning a 40ft Alfarm bar into a 60ft bar set up for direct seeding just before planting in May.
I ran a field day with Danny, and was told later it would destroy farming.
Big turning point in the Mallee and farming.
Just goes to show how things evolve.
