Do you have a creative kid? Bring them to a very special Kids Art Lab - 50 years of Deadly as part of NAIDOC Week

In this special arts workshop designing boomerangs with Bakandji artist Aunty Jeanie Mason, Kirrae Whurrung Eastern Maar Nations artist Ella Clarke, and Gudjitmara art facilitator Jahneya Travis, with support from lead art facilitator Jo Mott.

Live at the Bowery Theatre - Candice Lorrae supported by Pirritu and Wren Arkose

Proud Jawoyn and Torres Strait Islander woman, award-winning artist, and masterful storyteller, Candice Lorrae, is coming to the Bowery Theatre for a special one-night preview of her debut album Paperbark & Lilies. Expect folk, dream-pop and island soul woven from family stories, cinematic visuals and a powerful live band.

Save the Date - Kıbrıs Adanın Sesleri - Our Journeys, Our Stories - 30 August

Uprooted by conflict and displacement, Cypriot Turks carry the echoes of their homeland across continents.

'Kıbrıs Adanın Sesleri' is a digital community project from the North Cyprus Turkish Community of Victoria that follows the stories of community members as they journey from Cyprus to Victoria, revealing narratives of loss, resilience, migration, and the remaking of home.

Showing now - Holding Signals Exhibition by Corinna Berndt

This exhibition presents a developing video work and related sculptures exploring memory, personal archives, nature and the digital realm. Through a poetic science-fiction narrative, the work reflects on naming, language, connection across distance, and the environmental footprint of the devices we use to stay connected globally.

Showing until 15 August at Bowery Gallery, 33 Princess Street, St Albans. Free of charge, gallery open Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm and Saturday 9am-12.30pm.

This weekend - Rakali at the Bowery Theatre

Rakali is contemporary Australian Gothic fable a young family trading in suburban Melbourne for a remote Tasmanian houseboat. The river has other plans - in the form of Rocko, a charismatic shapeshifting water rat who wants their baby.

Written by Alex Duncan and directed by Alice Darling.
Nominated for Best Theatre (Melbourne Fringe 2023)

Showing now - The Unshakable Destiny Exhibition by Nikki Lam

Working with moving image, they explore memory, time, and diaspora 'The Unshakable Destiny' by Nikki Lam (Western Melbourne and Hong Kong based artist and filmmaker) reimagines Hong Kong cinema and history, reflecting on migration, political unrest, and the fragile act of witnessing a homeland from afar.

Showing until 15 September at the Brimbank Projection Galleries, 301 Hampshire Road (rear of the building). Projections are visible after dark until 11pm.

Western Edge 's Edge Ensembles is back - and this year, they've been exploring what it means to ILLUMINATE.

The program brings together young emerging artists from Footscray, Wyndham and St Albans each week, and culminates in an original theatre work created and performed entirely by the participants themselves.
