Getting funky yesterday running some steel parts in my Syil X7 CNC mill. That’s a Palbit 20mm carbide insert cutter. Very happy with the finish of Op1. Still need to cut the hat off.
Pushing my little tool and cutter grinder a bit hard today. Back in the day I would have chastised our apprentice/s for doing this by saying, “it’s not a FKN milling machine”! 😜 comment below 👇

Just finished 4 loco wheels for one of my viewers. These are for his Britannia model steam locomotive 🚂. OD is 63mm and running section dia is 57mm with a 2.5 degree taper.

I’ve fallen in love with the Colchester Master all over again. This old girl is running like a Swiss watch. Upgrades (new feet, re-levelling, Ditron DRO and work light) have been a game changer.

The old Colchester Master 2500 lathe has had some much needed upgrades since I took ownership. Dorian Quadra tool post, Daintree live centre, Ditron digital readout, HL-57LT Work Light, and new feet 👣 .
