The strongest measure of an engineering solution is its performance in the field.
Following the CAT 793F differential attenuation project at New Acland Coal, the Mine Control Superintendent shared this feedback: “Based on these results, I would recommend rolling it out across the remainder of the fleet.”
The feedback reflects the value of targeted noise attenuation, where engineering solutions are developed around specific noise sources and verified through post-installation testing.
Explore the project and the results behind the recommendation.

When heavy rainfall increases water levels, having sufficient water-removal capacity is critical to maintaining operational control.
At a Queensland copper mine, Minetek deployed a 13-unit mechanical evaporation system, comprising nine land-based and four floating units, to support acid pit dewatering and flood mitigation.
With a combined water-processing capacity of 5,560 GPM (1,270 m³/hour), the system provides additional capacity to manage excess water during challenging site conditions.
Explore the project and how mechanical evaporation supports mine water management ahead of high-rainfall periods.

A 630 Hz tonal exceedance was identified at the differential of a CAT 793F at a Queensland coal mine.
Minetek developed a targeted attenuation package to address the source while maintaining airflow, maintenance access and critical equipment functionality.
Following installation, post-attenuation measurements confirmed the 630 Hz tonal noise was eliminated.

Heavy rainfall can place increasing pressure on mine water management, particularly where storage capacity is limited or water-removal systems are already constrained.
Before rainfall intensifies, mine sites should assess current pit and TSF water levels, available storage, expected inflows and existing water-removal capacity. Discharge and treatment constraints, along with contingency capacity for extreme rainfall, should also form part of readiness planning.
See how Minetek’s high-volume evaporation systems can provide additional water-removal capacity for dewatering, flood mitigation and excess water management.

Heavy rainfall can put increasing pressure on mine water management.
For operations across Queensland and the Top End, the months before rainfall intensifies provide a critical window to assess water levels, available storage and water-removal capacity.
See how Minetek’s high-volume evaporation systems have been deployed across Queensland for emergency response, pit dewatering, flood mitigation and underground water management.

Last week, we wrapped up our 2026 Emerging Leaders Program with our final session focused on Leadership Skills.
Throughout three sessions, people from across our departments and teams came together to share experiences, learn from one another, and see leadership from different perspectives. Different roles, different challenges, but the same willingness to show up, contribute, and learn from each other.
At Minetek, we believe leadership isn’t about a title. It’s about how you communicate, support your team, solve problems, and bring people with you.
Thank you to everyone who took part and, most importantly, put what they learned straight into action.
This is just the beginning. More to come.
A world first in CAT truck noise attenuation.
At a Queensland mine, a CAT 793F was producing a distinctive tonal noise from the differential, most noticeable during colder periods.
The Minetek team worked with the site to isolate the source and engineer a targeted differential attenuation package that maintained OEM airflow, maintenance access and critical operating functions.
The result? The 630 Hz tonal exceedance identified at baseline was no longer present in post-installation measurements.
The same engineering approach is available across the CAT truck range.
