Clear vision is only one part of the picture.
A comprehensive eye examination also gives your optometrist the opportunity to look closely at your eye health, understand any changes in your vision and identify things that may need monitoring over time.
And because your eyes, lifestyle and visual needs are individual, your eye care should be too.
At Harris Blake & Parsons, we combine experienced optometry with advanced diagnostic technology to build a more complete picture of your vision and eye health.

The Rodenstock DNEye® Scanner allows us to capture highly detailed measurements of your individual eyes, giving our team additional information to help personalise your lenses.
It’s technology you might not always see when you think of an eye test, but it’s part of how we bring precision and personalisation together at Harris Blake & Parsons.
Because no two eyes are exactly the same, and your lenses shouldn’t be treated as though they are.
See better. See us.

The right lenses start with the right measurements. 👓
Here’s Dina using the Rodenstock ImpressionIST Tower, one of the pieces of technology we use to help take precise measurements when fitting your new glasses.
Because choosing a frame is only one part of the process. How that frame sits on your face matters too. The ImpressionIST Tower allows us to capture individual measurements based on your chosen frame and its position, helping us personalise your lenses to the way you actually wear your glasses.
It’s another example of the technology working quietly behind the scenes at Harris Blake & Parsons, combined with the experience of our team, to make sure your eyewear isn’t simply something you see through, but something that has been carefully fitted for you.
See better. See us.

Bold colour, clever details and a whole lot of character, this is WOOW eyewear.
Known for playful designs that don’t take themselves too seriously, WOOW frames are made for people who want their glasses to feel like part of their personal style, rather than something that simply blends in.
We love the vibrant blue paired with the warm metallic detailing on this pair. It’s fun and distinctive, while still being incredibly wearable.
If your current glasses are feeling a little too safe, perhaps it’s time to try something that makes you smile when you put it on. 👓
Come in and explore the WOOW collection at Harris Blake & Parsons.
Meet Linda 👋 One of the owners and optometrists behind Harris Blake & Parsons.
For Linda, being part of Harris Blake & Parsons for the past 20 years has meant much more than simply coming to work each day.
It’s been two decades of getting to know the people who walk through our doors, helping them through different stages of their lives and, in many cases, caring for multiple generations of the same family.
At the heart of it all is something very simple: helping people. Helping someone see more clearly, understand what’s happening with their eyes, find the right solution for their lifestyle, or simply feel genuinely looked after.
What exactly is the macula and what happens when macular degeneration begins? 👁️
Welcome to Episode One of our new series with Ally.
To understand macular degeneration, we first need to understand the macula itself. Located at the centre of the retina at the back of the eye, the macula plays a huge role in our central vision, helping us read, recognise faces, drive and see fine details clearly.
In this first episode, Ally takes us back to the basics, explaining what the macula does, where macular degeneration occurs and what can begin to happen to our vision as the condition develops.
Macular degeneration primarily affects central vision, which means changes can sometimes show up as blurred or distorted areas, difficulty seeing fine detail or changes in the way straight lines appear.

Your prescription tells us how much correction you need. But there's much more to your eyes than a standard prescription alone.
At Harris Blake Parsons, we use the Rodenstock DNEye® Scanner to take highly detailed measurements of the individual characteristics of your eyes. This information can then be incorporated into the design of your Rodenstock lenses, creating a more personalised approach to your vision.
It's one of the ways we combine advanced technology with the experience of our optometrists and dispensing team to help find the right vision solution for each individual patient.
Because when it comes to your eyesight, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Ask our team about DNEye® technology and personalised Rodenstock lenses at your next visit.

Take on your digital working life in a relaxed manner, with home office lenses from Rodenstock.
Today, we have put together three tips for ergonomic computer work:
1. Adjust the monitor position so that the topmost character line is well below the level of the eyes and the monitor plane is perpendicular to the line of vision. This will relieve the strain on the shoulder and neck areas.
2. Adjust the character size on your monitor so that everything is easy to read. Look away from the screen frequently, e.g. out of the window. Short breaks provide relaxation for the eye muscles. Regularly and consciously closing the eyes for a few seconds also helps.
3. When working at close range, your blinking rate can decrease by up to 40%. You should therefore make sure you blink regularly to avoid dry eyes. Also, remember to stay hydrated!
Bonus offer: Receive a mouse* with every pair of Ergo lenses.
