This NAIDOC Week (5 July – 12 July), Ringwood Private Hospital proudly celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year’s theme, "50 Years of Deadly," marks half a century of the NAIDOC movement. It is a powerful reminder of the resilience, leadership, and incredible contributions of First Nations communities.
As a healthcare provider, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land where our hospital stands. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. We remain deeply committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and culturally safe environment for all of our patients, families, and staff.

Pride- Everyone is welcome at Ringwood Private Hospital

As we farewell June, Pride month comes to a close. At Ringwood we acknowledged Pride month with a display in our foyer throughout the month of June. To round out the month we had an informative education session with Anita Hodge Healthscope National Manager Patient Reported Experiences and Outcomes on Diversity and Sensitivity.
Even though Pride month is over, recognition and acceptance of all is something that we do everyday.

Did you know bowel cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia? In Victoria alone, around 4,800 people are diagnosed every year, but when caught early, the 5-year survival rate exceeds 90%.

Screening has never been easier. Free, at-home test kits are available to eligible Australians.

The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program sends a test kit to Australians aged 50 to 74 (one can be requested online for those aged 45-49). It's simple, it's free and it could save your life. Yet only 41.7% of eligible Australians are completing their screening.

If you're eligible and haven't done your kit yet, now is the time. 📬

National reconciliation week runs from 27th May- 3rd June it is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, achievements and how each of can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. This year's theme is ALL IN for Reconciliation; it is a call for all Australians to commit to wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. Ringwood is committed to reconciliation and taking active steps to strengthen relationships with our Indigenous patients, families and community.

Every year across Australia millions of people volunteer in a multitude of organisations in both formal and informal roles. Volunteering offers significant physical and mental health benefits, including lower rates of depression and anxiety, increased longevity, and reduced stress. It fosters social connection, builds community trust, and provides opportunities to learn new skills, increase confidence, and enhance career prospects through networking and experience.

At Ringwood Private Hospital we take the opportunity this National Volunteers week to celebrate and acknowledge the 6 volunteers we have that help support of staff, patients and families. Every day they give up their time to make Ringwood Private Hospital a better place to be, they contribute to the way we run our service and the patient experience. Each one has a role to play and make a significant contribution, we thank you!

Today, we completed a major upgrade to the outdoor courtyard area located near Main Reception. Previously, this space had been used primarily as a thoroughfare for many years and was largely underutilised.
Thanks to a wonderful suggestion from Andrea in our Administration team, along with the support of the Executive Team and Social Committee, we have successfully transformed this space into a welcoming outdoor seating area for our patients and visitors to enjoy.
A special thank you to Andrea and to all staff involved who worked tirelessly to manage this project and ensure it was delivered so successfully. The result is a truly lovely space, and a significant improvement to our facilities. We hope our patients and visitors enjoy this space.
