I understand that 4 minutes is a lot of time on here but to exclude any footage seems to deprive a glorious glimpse into the most poetic & symbolic display of something I’ve thought about a lot lately

As someone who loves storytelling & symbolism this was the perfect scene to behold, & in front of the Guggenheim no less!

To witness a Castell build in front of me was pure joy. The assembly, coordination, team work and bravery were immediately obvious.

What was a surprise was the emotion I felt watching the tiny children clamber up the sides and the slow reveal of different body shapes occupying certain points. Everyone shared a purpose - to perform a creative human pyramid which displayed ingenuity and solidarity.

Swamped by a media atmosphere that downplays human connection, this performance provided a salve, which is where my emotion came in.

There was so much genuine celebration after the crowd disbanded & there was genuine risk involved, it was the tiny kids in massive helmets that got me, and the giant man at the base holding up at least 3 people & then all those people holding him up - see? GLORIOUS!
