Tom Dixon on materiality, design, and the future of making
We were pleased to be invited back to capture Tom Dixon’s latest Australian tour for Living Edge. Following previous tours, we documented the Melbourne leg of his national series, which brought the local design community together to explore materiality and the future of making. Our coverage focused on the world-renowned designer's insights into process and the tactile nature of his work. It is a privilege to maintain this creative continuity with both the Living Edge team and Tom Dixon, ensuring their brand storytelling remains consistent across every visit to Melbourne.

Transforming a carpark into a party!
Captured for Blu Event Productions. This shoot for Le Dîner en Blanc Melbourne required a suite of hero images to build the 2027 campaign. The transformation was absolute: a Fed Square carpark converted into a high-energy club with city views for one night only. Our focus was on documenting the scale of the build and the atmosphere of the event. Blu Event Productions managed the entire lifecycle, from daytime installation to an overnight pack-down that left the site clear by morning. Professional event coverage for Melbourne’s most logistically demanding activations.

Production kit essential: the leaf blower.
Arrived on location to find the hero path buried in cut grass. Not the aesthetic we were going for! Luckily, we pack for every scenario. 30 minutes of landscaping later, the path was clear and we were rolling. Sometimes the most important tool on set isn’t a camera—it’s the one that clears the way.

Happy summer, everyone! It’s been a busy year for all and we’ve been in the studio doing what we do best: racking up an absurd number of shoots, photos and videos.
To celebrate, we’re playing Shutter Shakedown: two contestants, five studio stats to guess, and one fizzy drink on the line. Closest guess stays safe. Furthest off gets their can shaken. Keep missing, the pressure builds. Loser has to crack it open on camera! Let the shakedown begin!

This modern law firm is bringing b&w back! Check out this stunning, minimalist style 👌
However, a B&W portrait style takes a little extra planning to nail!
So what does the photographer actually consider?
- Contrasting tones between the seating and clothing (light chair with dark outfit, or vice versa)
- Texture or gradient in the background -enough to add interest without being distracting
- Varying posing for each person to keep the collection dynamic and engaging
- A light background colour to avoid the subject blending into the background
- Soft flattering lighting that catches eye catchlights whilst creating shadow for depth
