Happy Spring from our folks at Independent Living. A day of exploring Garden World, meeting friendly lizards, browsing beautiful crystals, and enjoying lunch at the nursery made for a fun‑filled outing, full of curiosity, colour and connection. We can’t wait to see what the season brings next.

Spring is in the air, and our Community Options participants embraced the season’s beauty with a visit to the Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens. Surrounded by vibrant blooms, peaceful pathways and the gentle glow of spring light, it was the perfect day to slow down, connect and enjoy nature together

Recently, the Monkami Centre had the pleasure of hosting the High Street team for a fun-filled Meet & Greet Karaoke Disco!

Eight participants and two staff members joined us for an afternoon of singing, dancing, laughter and connection. It was a wonderful opportunity for people to meet for the first time, reconnect with familiar faces, and build new friendships in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Events like these are a fantastic way to bring people together, celebrate new opportunities, and strengthen our community. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. We look forward to many more opportunities to connect, have fun, and create lasting memories together!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Lions Club of Croydon-Mooroolbark for their generous donation of $1,500. Thanks to their support, the Monkami Centre can purchase the resources needed to launch their onsite woodworking program, providing participants with valuable opportunities to build practical skills, confidence, and independence. We are truly grateful for their generosity and commitment to supporting our community.

What started as a simple garden bed and storage container has transformed into something extraordinary!

Introducing Phoenix, a beautiful wall feature created by our talented participants at cape's Farm in Vermont. This project has been a true labour of love. Not only did it help build fine motor skills, but it also gave everyone involved the chance to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship while working collaboratively.

A huge thank you to Rooks Road for generously supplying the reclaimed timber that made this incredible project possible.

Congratulations to the Farm Crew! We can't wait to see what's next!

A fresh new look has arrived at our cafés in the East and the North!

Our team are proudly wearing their new aprons, affectionately nicknamed "cape-rons," and we couldn't be happier with how they look.

Part apron, part superhero cape (well, almost 😉), these new cape-rons have our team looking fantastic and ready to take on the day.

Be sure to say hello when you see our cape-ron heroes around the community.

Congratulations to Jane, Maddie, Kate and Eslem on achieving their best day ever, supplying 180 lunch boxes for two job expos in Broadmeadows.

This is a fantastic example of how the power of inclusive employment at cape café delivers more than just coffee by supporting the community and making an impact.
