As admin of a large gardening group I am approving 10 new members a week looking to enjoy the benefits of homegrown fruit and veg. So I have decided to show people what can be achieved on a very small block of land. All these photos are taken today 24th of March. As the saying goes the best time to plant a fruit tree was 15 years ago the second best time is tomorrow or even this bare root season. This year mulberries were followed by peaches and plumbs. We had an extraordinary amount of grapes that are still ripe on the vine followed by the apples figs and strawberry guavas which will be followed by feijoas, tamarillos and citrus. My bushfoods Muntries and Migin berries are now producing also. Our wide variety of strawberries produce almost all year and the lemon always has lemons ripe m, ripening and flowers. You don’t need a big block but you do need to enjoy being outside and enjoy making compost will help.
