Today, we're featuring Pooja, Nurse Unit Manager of Olinda Ward, whose reflection highlights the strength of the team behind every patient journey.

For Pooja, this anniversary is about more than marking 10 years. It's about recognising the nurses, clinicians, support staff, patients and families who have all played a part in building a caring and supportive mental health community.

As we count down to the 10th anniversary of Mental Health Services at South Eastern Private Hospital, we're celebrating the people who have helped make a difference in the lives of patients and families across our community.

For almost a decade, Shaji has been part of our mental health team, supporting individuals through some of their most challenging times. Now Nurse Unit Manager of Emerald Ward, Shaji has seen firsthand the power of compassionate care, connection and hope in helping people on their recovery journey.

His story is one of many that reflect the dedication of the clinicians, nurses and support staff who have helped shape our service over the past 10 years.

Yesterday, we were honoured to hold a Welcome to Country at South Eastern Private Hospital in recognition of NAIDOC Week.
As we celebrate this year's theme, 50 Years of Deadly, we recognise the strength, resilience and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and acknowledge the communities, leaders and Elders who have shaped this enduring legacy. [naidoc.org.au]

Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating our Hotel Services team with a special thank-you lunch.
These teams play a vital role in every patient’s experience at South Eastern Private Hospital. From preparing meals and maintaining clean, safe spaces to ensuring facilities run smoothly behind the scenes, their work helps create a welcoming, comfortable environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
It was a small way to recognise the care, pride and dedication they bring to their roles each day — and the difference that makes for our patients, families and visitors.

This National Reconciliation Week, we were proud to partner with our local community at St Gerard’s Primary School for a special colouring-in competition.
The students created some truly beautiful and thoughtful artworks, reflecting the spirit of reconciliation, respect and unity. Their creativity has brightened our hospital, with their pieces now on display for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy.
A big thank you to the students and staff at St Gerard’s for helping us recognise and celebrate this important week.

Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating Volunteer Week with our incredible volunteers who give so generously of their time to support our patients, visitors, and staff.
We marked the occasion with a special lunch, where we presented certificates of appreciation and a small thank you gift to each of our volunteers. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together and recognise the meaningful impact they make every day—thank you for all that you do.

As part of Palliative Care Week, our team came together yesterday for a morning tea on Abelia to recognise the important role palliative care plays in supporting patients and families with compassion and dignity. Thank you to our staff for everything you do.
