What have you been shooting this week?

Maybe you’ve been out chasing beautiful light, experimenting with portraits, creating something at home, or simply photographing whatever caught your eye. Perhaps your camera hasn’t made it out of the bag yet, and that’s perfectly fine too.

I’ve been playing with food and still-life photography, especially pouring shots, lighting setups and a little behind-the-scenes content.

And then we went a little darker… 🖤

Same fabulous Lauren, same Mackay Retreat, but this time we went deep into the Film Noir vibes.

Black lace, long gloves, pearls, a fabulous hat, a martini glass and, naturally, a little danger lurking in the shadows. Add some hard directional light and those classic Venetian blind shadows and suddenly we’re somewhere in a 1940s crime drama.

This is what I love about Film Noir. You don’t need an elaborate set to create a story. A few carefully chosen props, the right styling and, most importantly, light and shadow can completely transform the mood.

Lauren absolutely embraced the character too. Mysterious femme fatale? Woman with a secret? Perhaps she knows exactly who committed the crime… and she’s certainly not telling us. 😉

There's something incredibly rewarding about photographing the human form with intention. Fine Art N**e photography isn't about nudity, it's about light, shape, emotion and creating images that are elegant, timeless and artistic.

I'm excited to be opening bookings for a small-group Fine Art N**e Photography Session, designed for photographers who want to develop their lighting, posing and creative portrait skills in a relaxed and respectful studio environment.

Throughout the afternoon you'll work with a professional model while exploring a range of carefully crafted lighting setups, with plenty of opportunities to create your own unique images.
