I am loving seeing this perspective from our teachers! It's such a valuable lens to take when teaching our kids with differing needs.

Let’s SPILL the TEA 🫖
🎙️ I’m a psychologist 👩‍⚕️ it took me 10 years to learn this. I’m going to teach you in under a minute:

Your brain doesn’t believe what’s true ✅
It believes what’s familiar.
And what’s familiar… is what you repeat.

🧠 Your thoughts shape your feelings.
Your feelings drive your actions.
And your actions shape your identity.
This is how your brain wires who you think you are.

✨ But here’s the magic:
Your brain is changeable.
Say something often enough … with emotion … and your brain rewires for it.

That’s why self-talk isn’t harmless.
It’s powerful.
Like casting a spell your brain and body overhear.

💬 The way you speak to yourself becomes the way you feel about yourself.
And your life will always reflect who you believe you are.

And get this 🧠 your brain doesn’t even know the difference between real and imagined.
So visualising the calm, confident, capable version of you?
That’s not fluff. That’s neuroscience.

You don’t own your thoughts 💭 they visit.
You don’t have to believe all of them.

You can’t think your way out of a feeling.
But you can feel your way into a new way of thinking.

Because when emotions stay stuck, your nervous system keeps the score.
And most of your behaviour?
Isn’t conscious. It’s patterned.

But change the input…
And you change the outcome. 🔁

🧠 Save this for the days your thoughts get loud and share it with someone who needs the reminder.

Let’s acknowledge those times as parents and professionalsla where we support little ones through their big feelings (dysregulation), ‘being calm’, or trying to pretend we are! Let’s be authentic - calm does not necessarily equal regulated and it doesn’t teach or model to our kids how to manage their needs authentically either ❤️
