Red Frogs is a volunteer support network with the mission to safeguard a generation in areas of culture largely dominated by alcohol and other substances.

You'll find us at schools, Schoolies/Leavers, unis, music festivals, skate parks, and sports events! The โ€œRed Frogsโ€ program started in 1997 when youth worker Andy Gourley walked into a hotel room at Schoolies on the Gold Coast (Australia) carrying a bag of Red Frog lollies as an ice-breaker to connect with the young people. At the time he was simply dropping in to look after a bunch of boys that were in his skating group. Little did he know, the bag that was grabbed randomly from a local corner store would grow to 18 tonnes of Allens Red Frogs & 5000 global volunteers from over 1000 networks of community and church groups. These volunteers continue to provide vital support for young people not only in Australia but also in New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, France, Canada, USA and the United Kingdom. Our mission remains the same across the globe; to combat a culture that is largely dominated by alcohol and other substances, often leading to dangerous and life-altering behaviours for young people. The aim of the Red Frog programs is to provide a positive peer presence in alcohol-fuelled environments where young people gather, educate young people on safe partying behaviours, and promote and provide alcohol-free and/or diversionary activities that engage young people in these environments.โ€‹

๐Ÿ“ Who doesnโ€™t love a bit of friendly competition? ๐Ÿ˜„

Our Gold Coast crew hit the courts with local young adults and uni students to celebrate World Pickleball Day!

With plenty of good food, laughs and new connections along the way, it was a great reminder that sometimes the best way to build community is simply to get together and have some fun. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿธ

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a great day!

We are proud to partner with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Smartraveller, DrinkWise, and Mark and Michelle Jones to help safeguard young people during Schoolies.

The partners launched the 2026 Schoolies campaign with an information session at Mentone Girlsโ€™ Grammar School, the school attended by Bianca Jones, who tragically died from methanol poisoning overseas in 2024. The session provided an opportunity for students and parents to hear practical safety advice, discuss ways to navigate Schoolies safely, and ask questions of the speakers.

More than 120 students, parents and community members attended the information session during which speakers raised awareness about the importance of staying safe during Schoolies celebrations and the planning that can help if risky situations arise.

To support these important conversations, Red Frogs will help share key safety messages with young people through our high school education programs, equipping students with practical advice ahead of Schoolies. DrinkWise and Smartraveller are also encouraging schools, parents and students to make use of the resources available on the Partying Safely Hub, including important safety topics, videos and conversation starters to help families discuss the risks and make informed decisions before Schoolies begins.
