Camberwell Morning Garden Club Inc.

Craig Castree spoke to members on Thursday 12th March about, “How to be self-sufficient using your garden.” Notes from his talk are on our website. Craig also very kindly donated a copy of his book as our door prize.

Peter Moskovic, Secretary of the North East Melbourne Orchid Society (NEMOS), spoke to members at our first meeting for the year.

Peter provided a very useful and informative demonstration on how to repot orchids.

Peter also included when to repot, how to repot, pot sizes for transfer and potting mixture to use. Peter also answered members’ questions including feeding orchids and where to position orchids. The topic obviously captured the interest of the meeting.

Yesterday 33 members enjoyed a trip to Buda in Castlemaine. Read about it and see more photos on our website.

We had a different monthly meeting today. Andrew Rouse, President of the Rhododendron Society, invited us to come to him instead of him coming to us. We had our morning tea enjoying the autumn sunshine in his back garden, while Andrew gave us an interesting talk about growing Vireya Rhododendrons. We then were able to wander around his extensive garden and ask questions. A lovely morning! Thank you Andrew. Here are some of the lovely varieties in his garden.

An upcoming show that will be worth a visit...

Today we had our very own Joan as our speaker. She showed us many tips and tricks for arranging flowers from your garden and the end results were fabulous. Several members were lucky enough to win the door prizes and take one of the finished arrangements home. 🌸💐🌹🌷

We had a fabulous trip to Sages Cottage yesterday. Wow, what a stunning spring display!!

Our founding member Dorothy Laver (pictured) oversaw yet another successful AGM at Camberwell Morning Garden Club.
