National Meals on Wheels Day 💙
Today is National Meals on Wheels Day, where we recognise the positive impact of delivered meals in our communities. It's more than tasty, healthy meals delivered to homes - it's about connection, care, and kindness.
We have dedicated volunteers delivering around 750 meals per week from our Bonbeach Kitchen to those who need it most. It's a small act that reminds us how much it matters to look out for one another.
Do you know someone who would benefit from meal delivery? Contact AccessCare on 1300 819 200 or view accesscare.org.au for more information.

Thank you to Chelsea Hub’s Crafty Crafters🧶
This winter, the wonderful members of the Crafty Crafters group at Chelsea Hub have been busy knitting cosy knee rugs, which were recently gifted to some lucky AccessCare clients.
It's a simple act, but for someone feeling the chill this season, a handmade rug means a lot more than warmth, it means someone was thinking of them.
Crafty Crafters is a great way to meet people and explore your creative side. The group meets every Thursday, 11am–1pm and works on a range of creative projects.

Make room for connection during Loneliness Awareness Week 💛
The theme for this week’s Loneliness Awareness Week is ‘make room for connection’. Loneliness can impact so much more than mood, it can impact your health and overall wellbeing.
This week is a reminder to make room for that phone call you've been meaning to make, for sharing a cup of tea with an old friend or to knock on your neighbour’s door and check in with them.
Across Kingston, we’re bringing people together through a range of free and low-cost activities to build social connections. Find an event and get involved → kingston.vic.gov.au/loneliness-awareness-week

On Monday 27 July, the Australian Government will be conducting a scheduled test of the new national emergency alert system, AusAlert.
As part of the test, a loud emergency alert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia. Unlike a regular notification, this alert will sound even if your phone is set to silent.
While this is only a test, we know that unexpected loud noises can be unsettling, particularly for people living with dementia, memory changes or other cognitive conditions. If this may affect you or someone you care for, it could be helpful to have a conversation beforehand so everyone is prepared and knows what to expect.

AccessCare would like to welcome our new clients who have joined us from the Frankston area. Expanding our service area ensures older people from the Frankston region can continue to receive the care and support they rely on.
To support the uninterrupted delivery of services for both existing and new clients, a new team has been brought on board so new clients can begin services from 1 July. Funding for the expansion is supported by the Commonwealth Government, resulting in no additional costs to Kingston residents.
We are proud to see AccessCare continue to grow while maintaining the trusted, high-quality care we are known for.
