M900 Restoration Complete.
Just to recap, bike was stripped to the bare frame.
Fresh paint to the frame, motor, tank, guard, wheels, seat cowl, rear sets, sprocket carrier and triple clamps. New bearings and seals to the outer cases. Rebuilt forks, serviced carburettors, new chain and sprockets. Bike starts well with a nice even, steady idle.
New front brake lines, front calipers and front master cylinder. New clutch line and master cylinder. New tyres and tyre valves. New rear disc and all disc bolts are new oem. New breather hoses. Of course fresh plugs, oil and filter and suspension linkages lubed.
Bolts lubed, loctited or anti seize applied where appropriate.

Bikes like this bring back lots of memories, waves of nostalgia and old stories of great rides. It's close to going back in time to see a new one, given its 33 years old.

Ducati M900.
It's pretty much finished.
Now with brand new upgraded retrofit front brake calipers.
Some minor adjustments were made to the cleaned and serviced carburettors.
Now for some road testing.

Monster 900.
Further progress. Customer wants it as close to stock as possible. Period Termignoni exhausts from the Ducati catalogue.

Further progress with the Monster build. The owner and I put in a few hours over good coffee and conversation to get it to this stage.
Starting to look like a bike.

900 Monster project taking shape. Rear sets, triple clamps, and rear linkage painted and reassembled. New steering head bearings, new oil drain lines, new brake and clutch lines, pivots and linkages cleaned and lubed. Forks serviced. New tyres. New stainless and correct tensile bolts. When the freshly painted frame, tank, etc arrive we'll have a roller. The bike will have period carbon Termignoni and oem exhaust mufflers.

Various years and models of Ducati Monster. Can you pick the engine sizes and years? There's 600, 620, 659, 750, 821, 900, 1000 and 1100 motors ranging from 1993 to 2019.

Some bikes from the '50's, '60's, '70's and '80's. I do enjoy working on this old stuff.

A clean carburettor offers the best performance and reliability. This FCR-MX carb has been cleaned, serviced and tested. I use a remote fuel cell to test for leaks or flooding, and in this case accelerator pump operation which you can see in the video.
