Tucked underneath a cinema screen and down a narrow stairway, the Lido Jazz Room boasts live music every Friday and Saturday, 8pm-10pm, from the best jazz players in town. Inspired by iconic Manhattan jazz bars of the 80s, the Lido Jazz Room seats 40 guests alongside the in-house piano and drum kit. Sonny Rehe, owner of Fitzroy’s Uptown Jazz Café, curates the gig guide with both local and visiting acts being featured.

This month, step into the magic world of Ghibli with Mina Yu Quartet with Strings: Studio Ghibli at Lido Jazz Room. Sunday 14 June, 4.30pm.
Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies and captivating soundscapes of your favourite Studio Ghibli films, including Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro, brought to life by the Mina Yu Quartet. The primary language used in the show will be Japanese to create the atmosphere of a Japanese jazz club.
