Budget Breakdown

Here’s the breakdown of what our snow trip cost for a family of 4 ❄️🎿

We took our caravan and stayed at the park, but there are also really affordable cabin options if you don’t have a caravan. Plenty of people in tents too if you can brave the cold!

The park is right at the base of the mountain, so the drive up each day isn’t too bad — which also makes a huge difference when you’re travelling with kids.

💰 One of our biggest money-saving tips: bring your own food!

We took all our dinners, lunches and snacks with us. To be honest, I prefer doing this anyway because the food options at the base are pretty limited, and once you’re up on the mountain, the prices are CRAZY. If you’re trying to keep the trip affordable, buying food up there can blow the budget very quickly.

❄️ Snow gear: I bought all of ours second-hand through Facebook Marketplace. Lots of people buy snow gear, wear it once and then sell it, so there are some absolute bargains to be found! We only needed to hire the skis and equipment.

🎿 Lessons: We chose to book a private lesson, which worked really well for us, but there are also group lessons available if you want to keep the cost down.

❄️ Lift passes: We bought the early bird Epic 4 day pass. It works out to be roughly $150 per day, per person

Is skiing a cheap family holiday? Definitely not 😂

But if you’re looking for the most cost-effective way to do it, this is how we made it work without completely blowing the budget.
