🎶 Entries are now open for the 2026 Diana Torossian Emerging Songwriter Award — and we are so proud to be part of it.
Di Torossian was a beloved supporter and mentor of the Australian Songwriters Conference from our very first event in 2008. This award, established in her memory by DNA Songs (David Musumeci & Anthony Egizii), Andrew Lowden, and David Rosenberg, is a beautiful reflection of the passion she had for Australian songwriting talent.
✨ FIRST PRIZE — valued at over $23,000
Five songwriting sessions + five mentoring sessions with some of Australia's leading industry names, plus $3,000 cash.
✨ SECOND PRIZE — valued at $6,000
A 12-month, one-on-one Music Career Coaching program with ASC's own Lisa Butler.
The award is open to APRA AMCOS members based in Australia who are committed to a songwriting career and have begun building a commercial body of work.

“Ten gorgeous tracks … ten sparks of light for the darkness of our times.” Getting super excited for the launch of my new album, Darkness Illuminates Our Light, next week on Friday May 1. It’s taken a long time to pull this one together but I really believe all artistic works have their own clock and their own way of arriving in the world - and this album has definitely chosen “now” as its time.
I’ve had such beautiful help from so many wonderful people too - my talented co-writers, Elizabeth Usher, Elena Giordano, Mark Hall, Sven Tydeman and Ritchie Neville and my equally fabulous producers, Matt Fell, Michael Carpenter and Sven Tydeman with some magic mastering by William Bowden. Hayley Jensen’s unwavering belief in me has been vital in giving me the grit to hold fast to my unique artistic vision, while Michelle Pitsiris of She Is Aphrodite captured me so perfectly in “darkness” mode for the PR photos that for a moment I think I really did become the spirit of this album cover 😂

ASC Alumni and former ASC Melbourne Circle Coordinator, Michael Saleta Music, co-wrote this song with Sandee Facy and Lynn Wilbanks, who performed their winning Country category song 'Lipstick & Boots' at the ASA Awards!
Michael moved to Nashville in 2021 to pursue his songwriting career and we are incredibly excited for him as he is steadily building a solid reputation for his songwriting.
