Since 1932, we've helped veteran families move from crisis to comfort, from waitlists to front doors of their own. But the need hasn't slowed down. The waitlist doesn't take a week off, and neither do we.

This sketch by artist Barry Spicer says it in two frames what a thousand stats can't. The gap between homelessness and home isn't just a roof, it's a whole life.
For veterans like Dan, transitioning out of service can mean a fast drop, from stability to couch surfing, almost overnight. 🎬
That's a roller coaster no one should have to ride alone.
Dan's story shows what happens when it stops: a home, a routine, a place to breathe. Stability isn't a luxury. It's the foundation everything else is built on.

This Homelessness Week, we’re highlighting the connection to purpose that drives Veteran Housing Australia (VHA) on its mission to end veteran homelessness.
In 1932, First World War veteran William Hawkins founded the Carry On Club on one principle ‘do good by stealth’. 94 years on, VHA lives that ethos every day as a registered community housing provider (CHP) dedicated exclusively to veterans and families of veterans.
For VHA CEO and Australian Army veteran Rob Miller, the connection to purpose is simple, ‘every veteran deserves a safe place to sleep.’
Housing stability is foundational to health, connection, and independence.
