Rock Dog Training

Introducing a few of the most recent doggos that have started their training journeys 🐶

🌞 Mouse the hound - dog is settling into life with his new family 🙌

🌞 Louie the GSD X Lab started working on some basic training drills to curb some dog reactivity 💪

🌞 Lenny the Greyhound worked through a training package to help get him settle post adoption ❤️

🌞 Kandy finished up her puppy behaviour pack going over all of the basic puppy training and set her up to become the best bud of her little human sister 👭

Introducing Bruno 🐰

Don't let his tough looks fool you (😂), this big guy is a bit of a scaredy cat!

Bruno was recently adopted and while he loved his new owners from the very start, he quickly showed fear based reactivity and aggression towards people.

We will be working on confidence building, basic obedience and reactivity training, among other things.

Our first goal is to get him more comfortable just existing around other people and then we will see if he wants to interact with new people in a less "barky/bitey" way!

Introducing Freddie 🔥

This big guy already had some great foundations in his obedience and understanding of training. He is at a particularly tricky age where he has started to push the boundaries at home and seems to have endless energy to burn!

We started off with some basics in self control and self regulation through basic obedience training and changing his setup at home a little.

In our next session we went through how to work boundaries and control into structured play. This guy is a play MONSTER, which makes it such a great way to make sure he is fulfilled and tired. But it is also an incredible way to up the communication and create more of a working relationship. In play there are rules and boundaries involved in him getting the thing that he wants, and forcing him to think through his arousal -before it becomes over arousal.

I'm loving this team and looking forward to our next steps with Freddie - working on some dog reactivity and over arousal out on walks when he sees his favourite people.

Each dog is being set up with their individual goals and training plan and I'm looking forward to seeing them progress 🙌

Little Ruby and Benji have just finished up their behaviour pack, helping to get little Ruby settled into her new home.

Both the dogs have been undergoing some training to help with this transition! Benji has been learning a reliable recall and been practicing his place training while Ruby has been learning all of the puppy basics 💪

Benji was initially not very happy about having a little sister, so we have relied heavily on structure and management to get him feeling more comfortable. As they have both been easing into their new life together, they have been having more and more freedoms and making good choices.

A good management system and some proactive training can really help remove a lot of stress of a new arrival 🙂

Penny had a one on one training consultation today to get her all ready to join group classes 😍

She is a very well behaved girl! Group classes will be a great place for her to further her obedience, exercise her brain and keep her fulfilled 🙌

Some more good pups I have met recently 😍

🤠 Bucket the Chihuahua is working through some fear and barking towards people and dogs. This little guy has a great personality and a good foundation for us to build on!

🤠 Goldie jumped into some puppy training!

🤠 Bear the Bordoodle was learning all about marker words, loose leash walking and place training - getting him setup to join group classes in the future 💪

Jed is a lucky boy that has landed himself in a great home 😇

I have been working with his dedicated owner to get him settled into city life and into his new home. We have been able to hit the ground running, setting him up with the basics and then working him through some fixation and reactivity towards cats, creatures and dogs behind fences!

Jed is like a little sponge, taking in the training and he has been improving over our sessions. I have had a lot of conversations with his owner about how training isn't linear sometimes and Jed is potentially getting used to a whooole lot of changes at once, so we have been taking it day by day and readjusting the training plan as he improves and is ready for the next steps.

Next steps for Jed:
- joining group class 💪
- working with a range of dogs to build up some more neutrality
- Assess his sociability with dogs in a safe way (his history is a bit of a mystery at this point!)

I'm so keen to see Jed keep progressing and living his best life 💃🕺

Gypsy is a cheeky and very clever Rottweiler pup who has landed herself in a very committed and experienced home 🙌

She has a great foundation for us to build on, in all aspects of training and development 💪

We had a quick one on one session to tidy up some of her obedience foundations and now she is going to be able to up the distraction factor and progress in the group class environment 🤓

🐶 Bendy (pic 2) and Millie (pic 3) are getting used to living together and walking nicely on the leash
🐶 Ringo will be working on his recall and we have started building Finn's confidence walking outside

Lots of different personalities and goals for this bunch! They have all been setup with their own training plans and I can't wait to watch them grow and progress ☺️
