π A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the Macleay Youth Laneway Festival! π
Young people shared their βWords Worth Sharingβ β answering the question, βWhat would you say to someone who needs to hear something good today?β There were some wonderful messages to read π¬
Thank you to all the brave volunteers who took on the dunk challenge!
The dunk challenge was run by Headspace Kempsey and CUC Macleay Valley. A special thank you to Adam from CUC Macleay Valley, to Riverside Movies Kempsey for the movie ticket donations, and to Kempsey Shire Council for putting on yet another fantastic event.

π A little fun, a lot of community connection! π
Whoβs taking the hot seat at the Macleay Laneway Festival this Saturday? ππ¦
Itβs Michael Kemp! πͺ£π
The headspace Kempsey team will be there with our Beat the Bucket challenge. Come say hello, have a laugh, and join in. Community events are a great way to connect with others, try something new and enjoy being part of the Macleay community.
Will Michael escape a soaking, or will someone send the water crashing down? π¦π Youβll also get the chance to dunk one of your favourite headspace Kempsey team members!
headspace Kempsey will have merchandise prizes for people who succeed in the challenge, plus special gifts for those brave enough to give the hot seat a try! π
Come along just after 3pm to watch the action. Thereβll be a whole afternoon of food, entertainment and activities to enjoy at the Laneway Festival.

πΏπ Sometimes, the most beautiful things happen when we simply let go. π¦β¨
Too often, we exhaust ourselves trying to control situations, people and outcomes. We overthink, overplan and worry about things that are sometimes completely out of our hands. But there's something incredibly freeing about stepping back, taking a breath and allowing life to unfold naturally. π» Letting go doesn't mean giving up. Sometimes, it means making space for something beautiful and unexpected to unfold. β¨
Every young person deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported as they navigate life's uncertainties. π Whether you're learning to let go or finding the confidence to take control, the choice is always yours. And if you ever need someone to yarn to along the way, we're here at headspace Kempsey to listen, without judgement or pressure. ππΈ

Every hero reaches a point where the old map stops working. πΊοΈπ§
In Joseph Campbellβs Heroβs Journey, the path into the unknown can bring a dipβa difficult stretch where things feel uncertain and the next step isnβt clear. π«οΈβ°οΈ But that dip doesnβt have to be the end of the story. It can be where courage grows, new strengths are found and a fresh path begins to take shape. π±πͺβ¨
Letting go of the plan can be scary. π¬ It can also make room for new possibilities beyond the next turn. πͺπ
Every journey has its ups and downs, and you donβt have to face the harder parts alone. If youβre aged 12β25, headspace Kempsey offers support across four streams:
π§ Mental health and wellbeing
π Physical and sexual health
π Work and study
π€ Alcohol and other drugs
